GrandeVersace Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Still haven't listened but I hope it's better than Positions. I mean it's not that hard to top an album of Sh...t up and 34/35 snoozefests.
Mezter Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) This love's posessing me but I don't mind at all It's like Supernatural Yeah I ain't coming up off this one for a minute Edited March 8 by Mezter
Uncatena Posted March 8 Posted March 8 its cute and there are some fantastic new songs on here but... meh. I'd have more fun with a positions replay tbh.
Sky Engineer Posted March 8 Posted March 8 For me its missing a Honeymoon avenue/Moonlight kinda ballad
Simple Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Good album overall, I like the tracklisting. It feels like she is telling a story. First listen top 5: - Bye (sooooo good, one of her best) - True story (also one of her best) - We can't be friends (really surprised me, wasn't expecting this from her and it also feels a bit risky for it to be the 2nd single? idk) - Yes, and (I started to like the Mariah remix as well ) - Supernatural Other songs are ok, nothing really "bad". Just wish she did more with the album photoshoot and promo tbh cuz the music is good
Yawn Posted March 8 Posted March 8 while i fully understand and love the approach and vulnerability with WCBF (WFYL), i can’t help but imagine if the song built even more and the vocals got bigger towards the end. i wish i could hear an alternative version with an explosive bridge and big final chorus, more ad libs and belts, etc
SweetOreosOfHeaven Posted March 8 Posted March 8 The album has a cute, dreamy vibe that makes it very easy to listen to, but it gets a bit samey/repetitive. I'd love for it to have more "switch-up" moments. I feel like there's something lacking in her vocals this time around, I thought maybe it was just Yes, And? but it's a problem in the entire album, not sure what happened here. Love how much better she enunciates though!
shark_heather Posted March 8 Posted March 8 The album is a great piece of work Arianators should be very proud Only thing is missing is a massive hit . I guess they thought Yes And would have done the job - i did too - ...

Nick_317 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I wish I hated Grammys is now in my Ariana trinity with Needy and Better Off 1
Dear Reader Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I rearranged the track list: intro (end of your favs) grammy don’t wanna skip this song again God Returns Interlude eternal slay supercvnt true gospel the grammy is mine yes i just won aoty, and? we can’t be losers (wait for your grammy) i wish i hated grammys grammy for you ordinary albums (ft. other MPGS)
torontowest91 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Imperfect for you is so good. The song is incredible. It slaysssesss.
Solaria Posted March 8 Posted March 8 The title track is really a highlight. It’s melodic, catchy but also playful. It’s basically the best of Positions 2
liquiddiamonds Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Great album, loving how understated and atmospheric it is. Ordinary Things is perfect. her vocal layering just gets better in time
TMRA Posted March 8 Posted March 8 1. Intro - cute intro that sets the tone for the album 2. bye - I love the chorus in this one so much, the melody is great, she sounds amazing and the instrumental of the song is so good 3. dont wanna break up again - the chorus is my fav part of the song, this song went unnoticable for me on the first listen but on my second one is growing on me a lot 4. saturn interlude - flows nicely into the next song, its also a cute homage to the movie 5. eternal sunshine - pre chorus is giving me cry me a river vibes, but the brige of this song and its outro are the highlights. A direct allusion towards the movie 6. supernatural - one of my fav songs on the album right now, verses are so good 7. true story - this slaps! love it she sounds so good and the melody is great too 8. the boy is mine - what a earworm!! I need a full album of this and fantasize I am a sucker for 90s,00s rnb pop mix ughh it has to be a single 9. we cant be friends - itss a cute bop, I expected a more explosive chorus because the instrumental during the verses keep building up, definitley radio friendly to be a second single, will probably grow on me more 10. i wish i hated you - I have to say I LOVE this -glitter instrumental- in a song like Bejeweld by Taylor if you know what I mean lol. She sounds like heaven and the production is so good here 11. imperfect for you - another album highlight, so beautiful and dreamy 12. ordinary things - its cute, not my favorite, nona is spitting facts in the outro 1
teenager Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) I just started listening: - intro ummm hello this is ******* gorgeous? - bye this sounds EXPENSIVE. love it from first listen - don’t wanna break up again I love how it flows seamlessly from the last track but it really does feel like bye extended version? does it use the same chords or something - saturn returns interlude appreciate it in the grand scheme of things but the irish accent took me out, it feels kinda out of place. the last part salvaged it though - eternal sunshine i am truly SICK of this generic beat that’s been everywhere the last few years. anyway the song is fine but can’t believe max produced this for ari because it’s beyond middle of the road - supernatural that damn high octave synth playing in the background… the messy bridge transition. it’s giving video game NOISE. this is really not it Ari hunny. seems like I’m in the minority because everyone seems to love it - true story the fact this made the tracklist over god knows how many others. it’s not bad, it’s just… forgettable? - the boy is mine FINALLY, a return to form! something a bit sonically different. a bop! - yes, and? still an absolute bop for me but the intro is too long and the bridge lacks punch - we can’t be friends I really do see the dancing on my own comparisons for that staggered synth but the vocal delivery isn’t punchy enough in the chorus for me but it’s definitely one of the stronger tracks, probably my fave so far. I’ll be switching like f words in a few listens im sure - i wish I hated you very sweet, but think it needs a few listens to really grip me by my follicles - imperfect for you the verses are so gorgeously presented but that damn hook line is GRATING - ordinary things I feel like I’m listening to a thank you next reject. not necessarily a bad thing but just feels… reductive tl;dr intro, bye, the boy is mine, yes, and?, we can’t be friends can stay - the rest can go! should’ve been an ep Edited March 8 by teenager

Solaria Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Honestly I think my issue with this album so far is that it kind of a feels like a compilation of everything Ariana has already done on her previous albums sound wise. That’s kind of my issue that I had with Midnights as well, what does this album have to offer that I can’t find on Sweetener or TUN as well (and even better?) 7
