Communion Posted March 7 Posted March 7 SHINTARO SAID "R&B GIRLIES, I GOT YOU" It's all like Sweetener's grown, sexy, femme older sister

Wonder what she’s actually talking about. She hated being in the public eye ? The fact that she got emotional made me curious My interpretation was some of her biggest singles/albums were born out of the most traumatic events in her life. Even though it brought her lots of success and attention, it was probably extremely difficult to feel celebratory or proud when you consider what it took to make that art.
Communion Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The vocal production on I Wish I Hated You from that little snippet is... crazy? She really meant it when she said she spent hours in the studio by herself doing a labor of love.
boxoffice Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The way all these verses are eating… can’t wait for the choruses
Bencharmer Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Damn it sounds like a continuation of Positions but with a way better production.
My20sBlues Posted March 7 Posted March 7 These are the kind of tracks that Sweetener's singles deserved but we didn't have because of Pharrell, omg 2
Starkboy Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The build up of Imperfect For You is SO promising. Please don’t disappoint 1 1
katyberry Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The trap beats on Eternal Sunshine and TBIM....girl this isn't 2019 anymore
Mark Rih Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Tbh I’m not getting Sweetener vibes at all. It sounds like a good pop album with disco and 00s rnb influence 1
RideOrDie Posted March 7 Posted March 7 sounds like her best album... finally some exquisite production

Gen Posted March 7 Posted March 7 So from the snippets I can tell: It has a lot of crossovers from Pop and R&B with some disco elements, she uses new structures and instrumentals for many of the songs. The use of synths with real instruments is very well done, whatever the insiders were saying was 70% bull based of the HQ snippets, the artistic growth sonically is definitely there and it will age very well as many of the synths and production elements are found in timeless songs from disco, R&B, and pop And yes, there are some trap beats but they sound promising but the bests from the album imo didn’t have them on the snippets 3 2
Dr. Alexander Posted March 7 Posted March 7 For those who are asking about the R&B and pop mix. It's in the same vein as this. That perfect blend. Which is funny because the producer who did this, worked on Eternal Sunshine. 1 1
