ariananext Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 To be honest I could be completely disappointed in this album and still be happy with all that we're getting, especially the content from all these appearances (and hopefully performances/a tour). Ultimately the reason I love her is her voice (more so than her music), considering the alternative was waiting until 2027, she will for sure release another album by then if this ends up not being my cup of tea.
Kintsugi Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Fantasize is beyond mid, it's not bad but literally any song from DW / swt / tun effortlessly clears 4 3

Felipesf Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I love the storytelling in Fantasize lyrics. It's so underrated

Communion Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) That people have trouble identifying the genres of some of her songs probably speaks to what the one insider who got to hear the album said - that the uptempo's here are like nothing she's ever done before. Because she has done more traditional European dance music: One Last Time, Break Free,.... but clearly that's not what's gonna be delivered. And then you have songs that are super pop and went down well w/ the Euro girlies but things like the buzzsaw synths keep them from being traditional 'dance' music: Into You, Touch It (and to an extent Bad Decisions).... but that also doesn't feel like what she's gonna deliver. Then the only other things in her discography that line up with the idea of being synth-y and dance music being... No Tears Left To Cry & (somewhat) Goodnight N Go, which oddly align with the "mellow pop that fits in the back-half of Sweetener" comment. It'd actually be very easy to see a song described as "Ariana does her take on Dancing On My Own" replace something like Borderline on Sweetener while still sounding like something new for her. GreenFrequncey Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I wonder if she’s going to give us soaring vocals, some lower runs, or whistle notes throughout the album. I’m still digesting that the album is coming.

I always looked forward to the track by track descriptions as the last hype for the album
GreenFrequncey Posted March 5 Posted March 5 This is giving me Positions with not knowing any of the songs. When Friday comes, I’ll have my speakers ready!
GreenFrequncey Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) If we’re getting a Zane interview, do we think it’s coming the following week? Maybe Monday or Tuesday? The reason I say Mon or Tues because I know we’re getting part two of the Zach Sang. Edited March 6 by GreenFrequncey

Dr. Alexander Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I simply can’t see her going strictly europop without there being some R&B undertones whether in chord progression or vocals to make it more interesting. I just can’t see her doing “C-list pop music” and I’ve been following her since The Way. But then again she dropped the yes, and remix so… 1
GardenPanty Posted March 6 Posted March 6 i know we keep mentioning Mr S but @s1974181 may have some tea, he’s always reliable 👀 1
Dr. Alexander Posted March 6 Posted March 6 But also people at the label and the fans who heard it at the listening session compared it to Sweetener and thank u next which was a perfect mix of R&B and pop and had zero europop and was far from “basic” Like none of this information is adding up
GardenPanty Posted March 6 Posted March 6 This is what that same insider said about yes, and? before it came out btw: Spoiler To the person that created a twitter account just to post the info that i share here, you are welcomed, here comes a hit tweet. - 3:35 - It's basically one big interpolation of Madonna's vogue (or at least sounds super super similar). - Chorus: "yes, and... play that **** with your chest and... be your own ******* best.... friend... say that **** with your chest, keep moving what's next" - Produced by Max Martin, ILYA and Ariana. - does it sound like a hit? for sure? does it also sound safe? yes. its a very light/to the masses version of what other singers have been doing with house beats.
