Isn't she a fan of NSYNC , Celine Dion, Madonna & Whitney's classics? zach sang also said this album is very nostalgic so i’m really expecting to hear influences from these artists 1

This is looking very much like a Max Martin pop record, but didn't she say in 2018/2019 or low key suggested she was done with reproducing that kind of mathematic pop? I remember her actually being very annoying about it while she was touring with the SWT, always somehow hinting that she hates her pop music and especially tracks produced by Max Martin's team. What changed? She didn't hate on her pop music, it was just some songs, the voice they made her use to record and sing those songs. Plus she has creative freedom now, while with My Everything and Dangerous Woman she didn't. She said she was tired of singing Bang Bang and Problem but she never said a word about songs like Break Free, One Last Time, Into You, NTLTC which were all pop.

What changed? Feels like some of you are headed for setting yourselves up to be mad if you're thinking this will be Into You x13 when the head of Republic's A&R said the genre was "house with r&b". 1

Victoria is likely not going to write for other artists anymore. Her only credit since Positions is one Nicki Minaj track in 4 years and Positions was most of what she worked on for other acts besides herself in 2020. The same thing happened with Muni Long. She said Six Thirty and Just Like Magic were the last sessions she ever planned on doing in terms of giving songs away because she wanted to focus on making her own music. (Just Like Magic ended up causing her to have a breakdown of no fault of Ariana's and is what made her decision final ddd) Savan was also not part of Positions because he was on a mental health sabbatical. He talked about this in an interview in late 2020. That he didn't realize the feelings he was experiencing were depression and actually said an "artist friend" (...Ariana?) caught what he was going through and encouraged him to start therapy. He moved his family back to Sweden and he has focused mainly on writing music for various film and TV projects (that's how we imagine Fantasize, Gloss, etc. came about). It's very likely she took the power TUN gave her and pushed Republic to let her make an r&b record she always has wanted to make - the outtakes for Positions are even more r&b than even what made the album. Add on that she knew the team she likes making poppier music was currently out of commission and she herself was prepping for a long career break, it's like Positions was her lining everything up to do a passion project. But I also wouldn't say we can assume ES is a pivot away from this or a "return to pop" when it appears she brought several beats and ideas from Shintaro (Off the Table) to her sessions with Max & Ilya and she also genuinely liked r&b music and it's been described as part of the sound of the project. 3
boxoffice Posted March 1 Posted March 1 omg the music video teaser we can't be friends confirmed the smash that Republic executive was gagging over in the reactions video 2
Dr. Alexander Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Putting her refined acting skills in a music video! This was the song her label and A&R kept raving about 2

She's only ever dissed Problem & Bang Bang. I'm sorry but the things like "OzGo is gonna deliver pure pop perfection her own I Got It Bad!!!" posts clearly imply a very specific thing and it's gonna be annoying if people dont get that and bash the album yet were never promised that to begin with.
