Dr. Alexander Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) Every time I listen to this album, I always find something new in the production, the lyrics, or the vocal arrangements Like I just noticed after listening to nothing but this album for the past 3 days, there’s a intentional glitch on her voice in “eternal sunshine” “Now she’s laying in my bed MM-MM lying on your chest” ”Now he’s in your bed un-un laying on my bed” Edited March 11 by Dr. Alexander 1
lapisnour Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) god, i dont remember what review it was, but whoever mentioned how infused with European (Swedish) pop this album is in comparison to how Americans make music was sooo right, these max martin melodies are unfathomably gorgeous and cohesive. absolutely adore this album!!! State of Grace. Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) I think it's too late for WCBF to challenge for #1 in the UK but it could happen next week if it keeps increasing. Two songs in the Top 5 would be fantastic anyway. The album will probably end up doing around 40k too whew Edited March 11 by State of Grace.
Zaynsus Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I love how so omnipresent her vocals are on true story that when I listen to the acapella version, it doesn't even feel like the instrumental is missing. 4
Popular Post Jjang Posted March 11 Popular Post Posted March 11 it really feels like energetically this album doesn’t carry the “anxiety” her previous albums had. She’s singing about similar topics but she feels much more re-assured in her self and not singing from an “unsafe” place emotionally anymore. I like that. 18

Same thing I noticed a couple of days ago, and you can see that in the live performances at SNL too. Back in 2019 she was always shrinking on herself when she sang emotional songs, now she seems very confident while also conveying all the emotion. 9
KatyPrismSpirit Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I feel like “true story” is the song that aged the most for me so far but thats because of the leak for sure.

What she has gone through in her life has been beyond traumatic and the fact that she has come out the other side, smiling, grounded - I love it for her. The fact that the album is such a success is the cherry on the top 5
