2024 MLB Season ⚾

This is the thread for the happenings of the 2024 MLB season, from the Cooperstown Ballot on to the World Series. The Texas Rangers won their 1st ever World Series Pennant.

This upcoming season will be the last season the A's play in Oakland, as they are set to relocate to Las Vegas.

This upcoming season will continue to have the RSN crisis unfold that began last season, especially with the Bally RSNs.

A couple of key rule changes will take effect for next year: mound visits will be cut to 4, the runners' lane on the first base side will be widened to include the fair ball side of the foul line. The pitch clock time is being further modified when runners on base, reduced to 18 from 20 seconds.

Not yet. This upcoming season is likely the last in Oakland.

The 2024 Baseball Hall Of Fame results are now in: Adrián Beltré, Todd Helton, and Joe Mauer all will be inducted this year in Cooperstown.

Billy Wagner, in his 2nd-to-last year eligible, barely missed out on making it.

Gary Sheffield ends his BBWAA eligibility with 63.9%, setting himself up for a chance to make it in via a committee. Andruw Jones got 61.6% and Carlos Beltrán got 57.1%, as both could stand to make further gains in future ballots.

Chase Utley, Torii Hunter, Francisco Rodríguez, Mark Buehrle, and David Wright all gain another year on the ballot.

Bartolo Colón and José Bautista won't appear on any future ballot with their sub-5% performance. #HOF2024

After 13 seasons in the big leagues, Corey Kluber is retiring.

The two-time Cy Young winner took to Instagram on Friday afternoon to post his retirement announcement. He thanked everyone who has helped him during this journey in five paragraphs, but when he got to the end of his note, he left the door open to remain in baseball in another way.
