It's simply because iPhone is more expensive on Android (on average), hence, its owner tends to be wealthier as well.

 

If you compare between iPhone vs Android users of the same income range, probably phone choice does not even make a difference.

I've always had iPhone but I'm over Apple's restrictive eco-system and Android looks way cooler. The grass is always greener on the other side I guess. I'm curious about fully committing myself to the Android experience. If for some reason I find I hate Android at least I will have had both experiences and will no longer be curious about competing systems. It's not like the charge sockets are different anymore, everything now fits in both systems holes since lightning was scrapped for USB C.
