vale9001 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) Jodie Foster: Gen Z can be 'really annoying' to work with The Oscar-winning actor Jodie Foster has said Generation Z can be "really annoying" to work with. In an interview with the Guardian, Foster said she had sometimes found the attitudes to work she had encountered difficult to understand. "They're like, 'Nah, I'm not feeling it today, I'm gonna come in at 10.30am.'" Or, like, in emails, I'll tell them this is all grammatically incorrect, did you not check your spelling? "And they're like, 'Why would I do that, isn't that kind of limiting?'" Speaking about the advice she'd give to young people in the industry, she said: "They need to learn how to relax, how to not think about it so much, how to come up with something that's theirs. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-67902404.amp Edited January 7 by vale9001 5 1

St. Charles Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I'm Gen Z but I think some of what she's saying is kind of true. But then again, the OLDEST Gen Z-ers are just now entering prime adulthood (25+) and are still wet behind the ears professionally. I'm sure people said the same thing about Millennials when they started entering the workforce. 7 1

mons†er Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Gen Z is annoying. They don’t value work ethic or really understand it. but Generations before them have defined work ethic by really awful standards and are really close minded to making it beneficial for both parties involved. I really enjoy Generation’s Z advocating for self and understanding what it means to have self-respect, but I do agree work ethic is a thing of the past for Gen Z. 13 2

I'm sure people said the same thing about Millennials when they started entering the workforce. You end up adapting to the work culture/environment. So many "I want to be different" kids all follow the same path lol. I personally love pop culture and the slang used online... but in a corporate setting it's all about kissing butt and not stepping out of line. Idc as long as it pays my bills lmao. In the entertainment industry, however, I would be so annoyed if a younger kid showed up at whatever time he/she deemed appropriate. If I had the power, I'd fire them on the spot. Lack of professionalism is bad at any age. 3 1
Phaunzie Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Yesh she is right but, did she really think the socially and politically aware Gen Z who are clearly against capitalist systems, would adhere to old timey thinking
Afterglow Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Millennials and Gen Z must be the most hated generations out of them all. 1

The7thStranger Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Many, many people of Gen Z are profoundly annoying, but that's just the age they are in right now. They'll mellow out eventually and lose that chip on their shoulder the older they get.

Because both generations are challenging the current systems in place What she’s saying is true, because Gen Z is more extreme in the work setting than Millennials. But at some point Gen Z will comply, like a member above said, most generations have people that think will do things different and end up following the same path Gen Z is the poorest generation all time, once older and getting more power and money things will change in mindset.
