When did Beyoncé officially surpass Lady Gaga?

Recommended Posts

In the late 2000s, Lady Gaga dominated the music scene as the reigning pop sensation, while Beyoncé steadily maintained a successful career. However, as time unfolded, Beyoncé's trajectory evolved into a transcendent status, solidifying her position as the iconic "Queen B" and a revered pop culture figure. However! The question is when did the other half of Telephone surpass her dynamic duo pop queen in terms of impact?

Gaga's 2009-2012 were arguably bigger than any period in Beyoncé's career globally, but the latter's career remains bigger overall and Gaga has since found success in areas that Beyoncé failed in. Stupid thread.

Gaga had a huge peak however beyonce was always consistent. Then after ST, Beyoncé eclipsed her completely. The rest is history

Lady Gaga was the most important artist of 2010s. This isn't true

Never. She has always been ahead.

Never surpassed, and never will.

Lady GaGa is literally one of the most important living legends of our time. To compare her to someone like Beyoncé is disrespectful to Lady GaGa. She is already not surpassing her in the musical discography and live performances, but now she's also not capable of surpassing her in the acting category. She's just that good.

They are kinda even if we count the time after Gaga's debut. Bey wins if you include time before Gaga obviously.

We never lived in a world where Gaga was ahead of Beyonce to begin with.

Beyoncé already had a huge career behind her by the time lady ga ga came onto the scene, and despite great initial success she failed to maintain that long term and never really caught up to Beyoncé in the first place. So I don't understand the reasoning behind the question in the OP.

Has she ever been behind?

Beyoncé has been around since the late 1990s.  She was always ahead of Gaga.

Is the implication that Gaga was ever ahead? Beyonce already had 10 years of consistent success when Gaga debuted and of course after 2013, Gaga imploded and Beyonce went to the legend tier.

Bit of an insult to suggest Gaga was ahead.

She was most definitely ahead of Beyonce in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2018, 2019. Stop being a clown :coffee2:

I don't get the thread. Beyoncé started in 2003 with Crazy In Love which became a classic, has had many hits and successful albums. Lady Gaga undoubtedly debuted in a big way and felt bigger during TF(M) as her peak was huge but Beyoncé always was bigger overall than Gaga.
