Danny789 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Giving white executives not understanding how popular Shakira is especially in Southern California. 2
Vermillion Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Her stans will probably be here soon to post recent streaming stats from her recent singles, which would make a decent argument in rebuttal, imho. I’m not invested enough to care to comment on that except to say that J.Lo and she deserved to headline the Super Bowl separately, but didn’t thanks to Jay-Z. THAT is what I’d love answers on more than Coachella, which I’d probably blame on Shakira’s age. That shouldn’t be a factor but unfortunately likely is here, in addition to other arguments about them looking for demos outside exclusively a Spanish-speaking audience. Which, again, is a stupid assumption about those going but I’m just playing devil’s advocate. 1

Zack Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Glastonbury should take her again. It's a better festival anyway! 3

Wrong Stan base gurl about posting stats lol we know who she is and the cultural impact she’s had globally since the crossover despite some lackluster singles. coachella paying her dust though? expected, she’s almost 50. She’s a rock in rio favorite, never saw her headlining a music festival like Coachella. but sucks tbh because 2 things Shakira does enjoy is music festivals and live albums (even when her fans never cared or asked for them, she still releases a live album for every damn tour) lol Edited January 5 by GeeDuval

Maybe she wanted to start prepping for a bigger audience for the tour they been announcing since Super Bowl lol oh well! She’s not the first nor will be the last. Edited January 5 by GeeDuval

The majority of people at Coachella are white. Just because it’s in California doesn’t mean it’s mostly local people. A quarter of the population of Nevada is Latino. Yet the biggest audience of Burning Man is non Hispanic whites. These stats mean nothing. Guardian: The kids are all white: can US festivals live up to their ‘post-racial’ promise? Quote
