Ariana Grande - "yes, and?"

From the same user on the forum that l3aked the chorus lyrics:

Spoiler
"After hearing it a couple of times, theres something about it that reminds me of "Motive", from her last album. Not sonically, but the way she pauses for half a second after every other word. But i guess it can be said about a lot of her songs? lol but theres a very distinctive, ariana-ish, way the song is delivered."

Scream.

Spoiler

Not Motive's aborted 3rd verse being her rehearsing for this.

I think this is what they mean:

Someone on PopJustice said it's only the bridge basically mimicking the talk-rapping like the original.

And we already know she was toying around with the idea of doing a rap like Vogue because her scrapped 3rd verse from Motive (which was basically her telling Murda "let's do something KUNTY") basically does that:

All these vogue comparisons but no one saying the song is good is having me worried

All the reactions from radio and DSP people have been overwhelmingly positive. Even the person who shared the chorus lyrics said "it sounds like a hit" but *to them* was a "light"/"for the masses" version of house and that they hoped she'd have done something more niche.

I feel like all of the responses have been positive? Telling us about the song and nothing negative usually means it’s good lol

the lyrics are meh, but no one was expecting the song to be a poem, hopefully they go well with the melody/sound

And I think a cunty visual could elevate the song :WAP:

vogue SAMPLE? oh wow :jonny5:

I don’t think it actually samples Vogue, one of the insiders would’ve said it by now, they only said it’s inspired by it

Even if it’s interpolated it I don’t think it’ll be super in your face, or not through the whole song

@Scandal was the first one to leak it!!

Ariana must've had a decent amount of input in the production as even Taylor doesn't have production credits for her work on 1989/Reputation with Max

a sample is different than a interpolation.

VERY excited for the music video too

“interpolating a musical work is different because it does not involve using any of the actual audio sounds contained in a preexisting recording“

for anyone confused!

i also doubt she’d ever do a direct/in your face interpolation with the same chorus lyrics and such - that’s just not her thing
