Umm, ok. :toofunny3:

Anyways, after sleeping on this it falls a bit flat for me. It’s predictably everything I would expect a Max Martin take on this sound would be. Still anticipating the album though.

a review about music that was more concerned with talking about her personal life than about the music itself :biblio:

There’s not much in the music to talk about…

P4K review is very lame... oh well. 6 sentences and 1 of them is about the song :coffee2:

YouTube has always had this issue, you’d think after 18 years that they’d finally have that working with new releases :lmao:

You would think after all these years, YT would have fixed the view counter for mass streaming. Like why is it still stuck at 100K :rip:

I think the video is very good. The hat should have stayed for much longer I think because it suits her and just looks cool - Justify My Love vibes. I love the choreo and the setting - very Paula Abdul as people have pointed out and also kinda like a house track video in general.

I think she looks good and I like her make up.mp3 in the video. If you don't agree keep it to yourself. Talking negatively on the internet about someone's appearance is completely unnecessary and simply malicious - it doesn't do anything productive. It doesn't matter whether the person is famous and rich or not. People deserve to be treated with the most basic respect.

Imagine if you just released your first song and video in three years - a great song at that - and people keep saying "Yeah it's cute but she looks bad it has to be said."

When I see a dancing video I expect to be gagged but clearly that was not the goal with Houdini and yes, and?

They just moving around doing their 1, 2 step. It’s not offensive or anything but also not outstanding. Don’t know what they were trying to achieve.

That's my critique. If you're going to do a dance video you better bring it, especially if it references a video as iconic as Cold Hearted. I know Ariana is not a hardcore dancer but she could do something more than lightly shuffle across the set.

Who did the mixing tho :rip: her highnotes/adlibs during the last chorus are supposed to be ethereal and so good but they are so muffled. It straight-up sounds like bad quality. If those parts are clear the song would be elevated a lot because we all know how good her vocals are. But THEY DECIDEE TO HIDE/MUFFLE the BEST PARTS. I am furious.

“Typical Ari…” my lord the “critics” are so cringe in this video :rip:

Artists used to be so good at clapping back at criticism in their music/videos. Now it’s just…. cringe

Song is about a 5/10
Those lyrics :bibliahh:

Why does the internet hate it? It’s a fun bop. Actually glad she switched up from the positions sound.

So any switch up is automatically good? A good song is a good song and a bad song is a bad song. And this falls between that. This song is mid. Sometimes I hate my faves so much because I know they are capable of so much more but they sometimes just decide to be mediocre.

they clearly weren't fans though, they aren't shy when they like a track :dies:

They also aren’t shy when they dislike something, have you read the review to Stuck with u and 7 rings? They straight up trashed them :deadbanana:

Really disappointed in this.  I was so excited when I heard she was working with Max Martin and going back to pop... but this 80s house Madonna vibe is just not my thing.  I didn't like Be Alright or NTLTC either.  The hook isn't catchy at all.

Hope the album has some better songs.

Was expecting a bigger budget but it was a serve! I liked it.

Is it just me or do her vocals seem to be much smoother in the video ?

So why are you whining about them discussing her private life if she mentions it in the song they are writing an article about :deadbanana:
