igninton Posted January 12 Posted January 12 7 eras and miss thing still hasn't been attending her diction classes. I legit had to Google the lyrics.
The Next Day Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) If this isn't gay heaven then I don't know what is. This what I imagine a Janet/Madonna collab could've sounded like in the early 90s. And the confidence in the video, whew, she IS a DIVA! I can't help but stan her, I just can't... Edited January 12 by The Next Day

I think this song kinda shows she (partly) does it on purpose, the audios we’ve heard from the Wicked songs have amazing enunciation, but she doesn’t sound like that here

Opening the album with a cunty Vogue/Deeper and Deeper-esque serve like Yes, and? then jumping into the more R&B-leaning tracks like Rainbow and Eternally sounds like a massive serve in my head. I would love it if she goes full-on 90s Mariah and gives the R&B tracks some house remixes as well, but that sounds like too much effort for her/Republic. Plus, having the lead single as the first track on the album is how it was in the 90s. When people would pick up an album on the shelf and look at the track list, the recognizable radio song by that artist would be the first thing they see. It would help in this generation too because it’ll give it an additional push.

The album is apparently pop-centric; I know someone who works at a major publication who has heard it and told me about the lead who said that it's not at all like positions, sweetener or TUN; he said it has more in common with DW but that it was all dance bops Edited January 12 by Blue Monday 1

Scandal described described it as R&B leaning so I was expecting 90s Pop/R&B which would still be different from her last 3 albums. I would be extremely shocked if most of the album is dance/house

SLUTTVFTV Posted January 12 Posted January 12 i was a bit puzzled on my feelings abt the song on first listen, but damn! after a few more listens and that mv, i rly love it! i hope there are more confident songs like this on the album
Supervillain Posted January 12 Posted January 12 The way I'm beyond obsessed with this... Literally been listening all day and I don't think of stopping She hasn't floored me like this since NTLTC I think 13
BellKat Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Ok, just listened The song is actually a bop as soon as it starts
justin. Posted January 12 Posted January 12 The absolute collapse that this song and music video are. The gaggery. The serving. The c**tiness. I have been shaking since midnight. 1
wantedyoutogrow Posted January 12 Posted January 12 i’m more inclined to believe miss Scandal but I wouldn’t mind if the album is mainly pop leaning tbh
