Starfish Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Are you for it or against it? Do you want it? What are your experiences with it? Hiring trends show that more and more people are expecting it and companies that implement it have higher retention rates.
EtherealCat Posted January 1 Posted January 1 i need that universal income to start so it can be 0 days
idkwiam Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Maybe I am wrong but I do think that people stay in office more than they should and spend like 1-2 hours doing nothing so yes imo 4 days workweek would be nice.
naval23 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 3 days is so much better. In no world should we be working more than free time 4
glitch Posted January 1 Posted January 1 It's a great idea, as long as it doesn't come with a pay cut. I do wonder how it would work for schools and universities in the long term. Would teaching only be 4 days a week too?
magazine Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I believe my company is trying to push it this year for a test group. And then for all. 10 minutes ago, glitch said: It's a great idea, as long as it doesn't come with a pay cut. I do wonder how it would work for schools and universities in the long term. HEAVYONIT Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I like it but I think moving to hybrid schedules would be better (for those that can). 3 days in the office, 2 days at home. 2
Cruel Summer Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I think it’s a start, sure, but not good enough. But I can’t imagine being the kind of person who truly believes we should work more than that. Labor is not the purpose of life.
Infinity Posted January 1 Posted January 1 4 days of work boosts productivity, workplace morale, and staff retention. There is simply no need to spend 5 days a week working. Work-life balance is a big thing for me. 1
IBeMe Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I am here for it hence why I will study to become a private practice psychologist so I can run my own hours and ish. BUT I do understand how on a societal scale it could be a huge shift which could be problematic for the first decade that it is implemented. Still I do think it should happen eventually..I just dont think it will happen in our lifetimes lol. Things move insanely slowly...I mean they havnt even fixed the daylight saving BS where I'm from and they've been talking about ending it for like 15 years now lol 1
Maroonx Posted January 1 Posted January 1 4 day work week with hybrid schedule - 2 days at home / 2 days in the office x 1
bad guy Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Only if the pay was the same as a 5 day work week. If not then what’s the point
Taylena Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I don't see this proposition working in countries already facing significant labor shortages and an increasingly aging population. I think implementing a shorter work week would only result in higher consumer prices and stagnant salaries, which would not benefit anyone.
Devin Posted January 2 Posted January 2 i support this. idk how effective it would be in certain industries tho.

SleepingTigers Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Yes. It’s ridiculous how long the work day is and i say this without being married with kids so I can’t imagine how those people feel. 1

poki Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) I definitely would love that. But we have to be prepared that in such a world, since existing salaries are still hard to get by on, many individuals will end up working the same # of hours as they do now in either overtime, or a 2nd job. This could cause bias towards these workers in the eyes of bosses (they will see it as "they value their job more than others, hench why they spend more hours here") so it should be: 4 day work week + increase in wages a/o better work benefits. DamianSolo Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I worked that type of shift on and off over the years. The quality of my life greatly improved when doing so; working four 10 hour shifts and having the extra day off was more than worth it. It should be the standard. I think such a simple, yet impactful, change would benefit the lives of countless people.
