Not all the basics in here stanning for Parsnips  I'm surprised it took her this long to retire it. That song is terrible and could've been sung by literally any pop singer in the year 2012. I'm not a Barb so I don't know her full discography but of the songs I"ve heard, Parsnips is definitely bottom tier for me. She has several pop songs that are better. I'd rather listen to the 2 Guetta songs tbh.

Or it's just another evidence to support the (largely true) claim that Pop has a considerably bigger reach than Rap/Hip-Hop, which is even more true when it comes to women making it. Of course a poppy ass song like this would be more popular in general compared to her straight up hardocre rap tracks. 

 

OT: Good, she (and any other artist for that matter) should not be forced to perform something they don't want to for the sake of anyone else.

Sure for the other two but looking at the Spotify streams on kworb, 'Pound the Alarm' either wasn't that big back then or is now rather an afterthought to the public (it only has 225M streams). 'Only' is actually her 3rd most streamed lead of her career after Starships and Super Bass. That's very interesting since it peaked lower than all 3 aforementioned songs. It didn't even reach the top 10 of H100. 'Super Freaky Girl' and 'Anaconda' round out her top 5 most streamed solo/lead singles of her career. Pound The Alarm is like #14 in her solo/lead tracks.

I don't think she cares being labelled as pop since she still performs songs like Super Bass and PF2 still has pop songs. It's just Starships that she doesn't like
