I am a Nicki fan since 2009 and Starships helped me through some really hard times. But I guess you’re right, I shouldn’t take it so personally, I’m just sensitive person but heart of gold
IBeMe Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Starships was a really bad and lame song BUT it has become iconic so idk why she wont perform it Just do it for nostalgia sake
bad guy Posted January 1 Posted January 1 That song is literally nonsensical. No seriously. Look at the lyrics. She just went in the studio and jumbled up sentences together to make an easy pop hit and it worked. "Jump in my hoopty hoopty hoop"?? "Twinkle twinkle little star"?? "Starships were meant to fly"??? What the **** are you talking talking about? Meanwhile her pop/rap hits like Super Bass, Va Va Voom, Moment 4 Life, and Truffle Butter are stories you can identify with. Let her cook. 7

theweekend Posted January 2 Posted January 2 she's about to cut off her only hit single apart from superbass? and not this song doing a all time high streaming number today

WhateverYouWant Posted January 2 Posted January 2 It’s a basic pop song. Who cares if she doesn’t like it lol.
teresaguidice Posted January 2 Posted January 2 the song truly sounds like satire of pop radio at the time. it features literally every corny redundant trope of time without adding anything new in any small way. releasing a song like that was obviously a business decision, not an artistic one. i understand not wanting to perform that garbage when you're at a point where you don't have to anymore. 1

The rap charts have been irrelevant since they changed the format from being about Rap hits and just based on Hot 100 minus rap songs. R&B/Hip Hop Airplay - 5 #1s Make Me Proud (feature) Moment 4 Life (feat. Drake) Throw Some Mo (chorus feature) Truffle Butter (feat. Drake & Lil Wayne) All Eyes on You (feature) R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming - 4 #1s Super Freaky Girl - 12 weeks Do We Have a Better (feat. Lil Baby) - 5 Weeks Anaconda - N/A Only (feat. Drake & Lil Wayne) - N/A Other songs: Love More - #8 - 27 Weeks The Way Life Goes - #8 - 23 Weeks Motosport - #3 - 22 Weeks Fefe - #2 - 21 Weeks Rake it Up - #4 - 20 Weeks Say So - #3 - n/a It's obvious Nicki has a hard time getting rap appeal with any of her releases, her biggest demographic is pop-rap listeners, like Post Malone, Flo Rida & Pitbull. 2 hours ago, bad guy said: That song is literally nonsensical. Yes it's terrible and I can tell why she hates it since she didn't write the chorus and probably was told to go in this nonsensical direction. It was a very clear attempt to get a hit and it worked, it's her 2nd biggest hit to date, unfortunately it alienated the audience she truly was after. She never gets proper credit as a rapper.
Bhabylon Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Ddd the white twinks that specifically like pop nicki are gonna be so upset when they don't hear it at the tour

Psyduck Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I hate pop stars who refuse to perform their biggest hit. You released it at the time, own it and give the people what they want. The people want STAR SHIPS WERE MEANT TO FLYYYYY 1
