the song truly sounds like satire of pop radio at the time. it features literally every corny redundant trope of time without adding anything new in any small way. releasing a song like that was obviously a business decision, not an artistic one. i understand not wanting to perform that garbage when you're at a point where you don't have to anymore.

The rap charts have been irrelevant since they changed the format from being about Rap hits and just based on Hot 100 minus rap songs.

Yes it's terrible and I can tell why she hates it since she didn't write the chorus and probably was told to go in this nonsensical direction. It was a very clear attempt to get a hit and it worked, it's her 2nd biggest hit to date, unfortunately it alienated the audience she truly was after. She never gets proper credit as a rapper.
