Fair enough, but this is a job, and if people come to see you, it’s your job as a performer to give them what they want.  If she can’t do that, maybe retire.

It’s the job as a performer and artist to execute your vision tho  Beyoncé hasn’t performed Single Ladies in years even tho that’s what a lot of people want her to do. It’s not her job to listen to her fans, it’s her job to give the fans content that aligns with her vision and what she currently wants to exude

 

Just because someone would like to hear a song doesn’t mean that artist owes it to them

I think it's mostly her EDM songs (Starships, Pound the Alarm, Where Them Girls At...) from Roman Reloaded, which is understandable as they were products of their time and aged badly. She really pushed her Pop persona to the extreme at that time.

This thread is not about Beyoncé.  Single Ladies sucks and is not Beyoncé’s signature hit.  Starships is a 10/10 bop and Nicki’s signature hit.  The equivalent of that for Beyoncé is Crazy in Love.  Has she stopped performing CIL on her tours too?  If so:  YIKES.

She simply dislikes performing this song. She’s in a completely different state in her life and career now. 
 

She doesn’t dislike her pop era - she praised her pop songs on RR recently in her Joe Budden interview, saying the pop tunes on it were perfection, she’s just critical of the the rap components, because she feels she’s put out better material since. And she’s correct. Artists of any medium constantly strive to improve & it’s typical to view prior creations through a critical lens, and be more excited about showcasing their recent/elevated output & growth. 
 

I like that she doesn’t just resign herself to relying on old material as a crutch, regardless of its success. And she performed Superbass at this event, she isn’t “abandoning” her pop sensibilities. 

Anyway, y’all really do pick & choose & cannot be taken seriously. The same ones that scream “Nicki’s only hits were pop!!!”, when she’s got the number 1 rap song rn. Stream the superior FTCU.

idk, she has many other hits she could perform. i'm trying hard not to sound like a barb but imo this website has such a hate boner for Nicki that people just love to nitpick everything she does because they don't like her... and it's fair if they don't, she's very messy and has said many problematic things, but it's just corny to me how thirsty people are to have a dig at her. this thread did not need 5 pages of people telling us how she's basically the devil because she doesn't like Starships

Tbh glad she dont want to perform this… it hasnt aged well and we have so many good songs on PF2 which is actually 25 days at 1# on apple music.
