Cloudy Posted January 1 Posted January 1 The disrespect, it's such a fun trashy song. Miss when she was fun and didn't take herself that seriously 1
Popular Post Legend ReX Posted January 1 Popular Post Posted January 1 The song is 12 years old. I’m guessing it put a restraining order against Kenneth. 49

Yawn Posted January 1 Posted January 1 she has amazing pop songs from that era, but starships is annoying and really bad.

But idk why when she still uses her stats from pop songs like Starships to claim she's queen of hip-hop. Nearly her entire chart-run as a solo artist is pop rap like this.

Raptus Posted January 1 Posted January 1 She can't pretend she's above pop music when she doesn't even have rap hits (outside of her Monster verse) 1 2 1 3

KatyPrismSpirit Posted January 1 Posted January 1 i mean she always said she doesnt like this song so why is it a surprise. i do hope she includes it on tour tho
crf13 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 It seems she’s slowly been coming to the realization that the majority of her music is just simply not good. 1
Adam’s Eve Posted January 1 Posted January 1 She’s wrong for this. Not when this song literally put her where she is today. Although, Super Bass >>>>> Starsh*ts
State of Grace. Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I do believe that artists are allowed to resent some of their songs especially if they associate them with bad memories and phases of their lives, but the way Nicki looks down on her pop-rap era is very obnoxious because she quite literally wouldn't have a career without those hits. I'm pretty sure a huge part of it is due to the criticism she was getting back then about her selling out and becoming a pop girl/not a serious rapper but instead of sticking by her art and defending it, she's basically agreeing with them now. She was a great rapper and she was good at cosplaying as a campy pop girl too. 1
OnikaSlays Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I mean yeah it’s a super smash hit, but it also sparked a hate train for her back in the day among hip hop heads. I could definitely see why she doesn’t like it. It’s not particularly a great song lyrically either lol.
