Honestly she displayed taste here. Starships is terrible and I'm generally a fan of her discography otherwise. It's cute for a party after some drinks, but as far as actual quality of being a good song, it's one of her worst songs. Super Bass is the one to stream if you want a higher quality Nicki hip-pop song. I'm always in disbelief that Starships outstreamed Super Bass on Spotify - we need to correct this as a society.

I hate that for so many years people criticized her for doing pop music and rap music as if the two can't coexist together - I also think some of it was wrapped in sexism because Drake does it and has been doing it since 2008 and no one says anything.

 

I think it's made her resentful towards her pop songs but her pop songs are what IMO launched her to mega international popstardom.
