All those brand deals bring extra revenue and help them level the playing field against boy groups that are dominating in album sales and tickets sales. Boy groups have historically outlasted girl groups and low gross revenue is one of the reasons. With girl groups becoming more profitable, I'd expect to see more groups following up on SNSD, and now Blackpink, Twice and Red Velvet to continue their activities past their 1st contract renewal.
