Really shows how fast k-pop moves compared with the Western music industry

the way they treat BoA like she's the hags of all hags when she's not even 40. she's literally the same age as Gaga, Katy & Rihanna and kpopies act like she's like Cher who's been in the industry for 60 years :deadbanana:

interesting video

SISTAR - 7 (1 at #1)

2NE1 - 5 songs (1 at #1)

SNSD - 4 (1 at #1)

T-ARA - 5 (0 at #1)

Wonder Girls  - 4 (0 at #1)

There is a bigger gap between SISTAR and 2NE1 than 2NE1 and SNSD when it came to digital songs.

Too bad they couldn't even hold a fan meeting or sell albums. Reason why most of them are huge flops now.

When you think about it, IVE is like an improved SISTAR. They have the hits but can sell albums and go on tour.

Yeah, poor BoA. The fact some people threat her like she should be retired and the woman is like 3/2 years older than Taeyeon. :rip:

:bibliahh:What?! 2NE1. Be fr
In October 2011, Girls' Generation became the very first artist to have 1 million recorded physical sales on Gaon. The Boys was the only album by a female artist to top the Gaon Yearly Chart, and the best selling female record in Kpop until Twice broke it years later.Within minute after the release of The Boys, SNSD achieved an "all-kill" status on all major on and off line music charts in Korea.

Spoiler

And SM didn't even give the boys a proper Korean comeback cuz they were focused on interscope and western expansion. The sone and Korean public can tell you how upset we were that they weren't even trying to promote SNSD cuz they were so popular SM didn't think they had to try domestically. And they still eclipsed 2NE1 by a lot. Be fr.Despite not on Billboard Hot 100, the song managed to peak inside the Top 30 on the iTunes chart in the US, selling over 21,000 copies becoming one of the best selling K-Pop songs. In South Korea itself, the album sold 227,994 within twelve days becoming the best selling album in October and third best selling album in 2011. By the end of December, a total of 385,348 copies of The Boys had been sold which then lead to the best selling album in 2011 and by April 2012, they sold over 410,000 copies in South Korea setting a Gaon Chart record for the best selling, non-repackaged album in the charts history. From October to December, The Boys became the 10th best selling digital track in Korea having 3,032,658 copies sold.

On November 30 the girls releases their first official Japanese photobook titled "Holiday" which made to the number one spot on book sales ranking chart under photograph collection category and sold 17,000 copies for the first week. The book was ranked eighteenth on the overall book sales rank. At the same time on December 14, The 1st Japan Arena Tour was also made available on Blu-ray and DVD.

On December 28, the girls release a re-packaged version of their debut Japanese album "Girls Generation" that includes Japanese version of "The Boys" and remixed versions of "The Great Escape", "Bad Girl" and "Mr Taxi" as well as the new song "Time Machine". The album passed sales of over 800,000 with shipments f 1 million. On the second week of January 2012, the album was placed fifth on the Oricon Weekly CD Albums chart. Oricon stated that it was the first time in history that an album by Korean artist has placed in Top 10 for 17 weeks. Due to the Japanese release, the girls ranked fifth among Japanese artists in terms of monetary profit which had generated over 4.5 billion Yen (USD 57 million) for 2011.

The answer is quite simple, people have streamed more some songs over time than others. The sucess for the year it was released is a different thing.

If we go by global numbers, since people claimed 2NE1 was global and SNSD was local, you can see only IATB has great streams, everything else is low or mediocre for a supposed global group.
