Spears_Stan Posted January 14 Share Posted January 14 The generation thing can be quite confusing I would say we re still in 4th gen because groups like IVE, Le Sserafim, aespa, new jeans and g idle, stray kids, txt, ateez are very strong to this day in different fields but at the same time many groups came out very recently that are making some noise in the industry like Riize, Kiss of Life, zerobaseone, babymonster and there s still more to come this year like SM NGG, pledis group so it feels weird to group them all together Not to mention that some 3rd gen groups still have life in them. Their debut wasn't that impactful, if anything, Newjeans debut was the pivotal moment that caused the shift. Just like how 2009 was considered the peak of 2nd gen with 2NE1, 4Min, SISTAR, and T-ara debuted. While 2nd gen already started in 2006/07 with SuJu, SNSD, Wonder girls & Big Bang.
