Material Girl Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 these girls try to move like veterans when they barely have a solo hit, that's where she went wrong 1 1 3
Bhabylon Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 She just needs the right song. She’ll be fine
James_Joint Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Kind of wild that for a brief moment Megan seemed like the breakout act and was bigger than Doja Cat
Popular Post unino Posted December 31, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 31, 2023 she's doing well for independent artist who just been through **** with her label and tony lanez. like she's staying booked and blessed with all of her side gigs. give her some time to breath and do it right. she fights for her **** and works really hard, we should appreciate it. 15
dumbsparce Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 She's one of those who will have the occasional crossover hit and will never be completely irrelevant unless she stops releasing regularly. Kind of like Missy in the 90s/00s.
deardesperado Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 I think people got tired of her hot girl shtick and didn’t care to tune in to the more personal music on Traumazine. Maybe if she comes back with something fresh and has a promo strategy ready then she can find success again but right now it’s not looking good for her 2
Both Sides Now Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) She is a real rapper and not an Iggy Azealia cosplayer (Nicki). She is doing her thing. Not everyone wants to pursue a career of singing over classic samples (Nicki). Edited December 31, 2023 by Both Sides Now 3 1 1
worldwide angel Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 not only was she on a bad label but she was on one that was actively sabotaging her and then went through a smear campaign backed by misogynoir and in spite of that, she released great albums like sfth and trauamzine as well as the excellent cobra even if megan doesn't recover commercially, she'll still be a big celebrity...at least here in the states since she is indie, she has the liberty to experiment which she has taken advantage of (spiritbox collab) her and arca, shygirl, and/or sega bodega would eat 1
SuperCiC1 Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 I feel like she's suffering from a lack of creativity and inspiration but she is still one of the best rappers for her lyricism alone.
Elusive Chanteuse Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 She seems to be doing fine to me. At least she’s not cussing her fans on social media and spiraling about billboard etc… she needs the right song and collaboration
Nicolette Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 She got lucky with Savage and WAP. But her music was never really commercial. Plus it really is too much of the same. I think a lot of people associate her with her scandals now than her music. 2
Happylittlepunk Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 The court case messed up her image imo. Sadly the hip pop community is still very sexist. The label she was with really messed up her career as well. I know she had to fight several dragons etc. but I hope now that she is independent she can focus on her artistry and grow from here.
Cain Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 It doesn’t matter cause she gave us THESE and that will forever make her famous in this household 2 1
aesthetic bih Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Ever since that Troy incident, I think she will struggle to have support from the rap community since a majority of them side with Troy somehow It's literally the gays keeping her music career alive + Cobra is never going to be a smash since it doesn't sound radio-friendly at all
BaddieBarb Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 She actually has a lot of talent but not enough creativity. Her annoying “Ah! 👅” sound is so tired and her songs have the same estructure. She needs to switch up the flow or maybe just rap on house beats like Azealia used to do. Her rapping style would do better in those type of beats.

It looked like Megan won for a second
Parallel Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Cobra was released independently so the fact that it charted at all is a win for her because the she keeps most of the return. As for Not My Fault, it’s more like Renée feat Megan, but it still has room to grow. Megan is fine tbh
1989 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 She’s doing fine. She hasn’t really released anything designed specifically for the GP since Good News (for a multitude of reasons, obviously). Nearly everything she’s released has been gold though, especially Traumazine—such an underrated album. If and when she decides to release something for the GP, she’ll smash again, I have no doubt. I’m always just excited to see what she’s going to do next. 1
Rotunda Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I think she’s mostly fine, but her return just feels kinda directionless. She needed a real “allow me to reintroduce myself” moment, but instead she’s doing a bunch of inconsequential things at once (Cobra, voice acting, an A24 film, mid collabs) that aren’t making a lot of noise. It kinda reminds me of Demi’s return after the OD, where there’s obviously work being done/gigs being booked, but most of the actual output is kinda “whatever.” 1

Musicmajor Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I think with some inspired material, a great song and visuals, she can come back stronger than ever. I remember first discovering her during Fever era and being floored. So fresh, so authentic and she was magnetic.

Polgg48 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 sweetest flop high key backfire her career and loses the hitmaker appeal with all new rappers pop up. so.... sis need label asap to get everything going score a decent position on rhythmic radio again and start from there.
