Arguably their worst albums but we love them

 

I think Erotica is much more artistic and unique 

I love Deeper and deeper, Words, Rain, Bad Girl (the only thing I truly don’t like is the tired rapping) 

 

On ARTPOP I think I only truly like the album title track and Sexxx dreams and Swine

This comparison is actually a great compliment for ARTPOP. Erotica is an iconic album and it would be great if AP had a similar legacy

Well, chart/sales obsessed person, hello, it’s me! 

But aside that, Erotica was a soundtrack to the book, a work of art.. but disappointing for a Madonna album

Erotica is a beautiful album masterfully crafted by Madonna. Only reason it "flopped" even though it went 2x platinum with two top ten hits was due backlash from the Sex book.

It is also the male version of Waiting. In Did You Do It the guy brags about ******* her with his friend while in reality he was a coward as stated in Waiting. DYDI always gets a bad rep but it is essential in the album, which shows toxic masculinity at its finest. After all Erotica is an album about relationships, not sex. Sex is just part of relationships and it appears in the album when required and not always.

Jewels and Drugs is arguably more artistic than anything Madonna has ever put out

The fact that 30 years later, Erotica has aged like fine wine, the public has reappraised how daring and forward thinking it was and it is the centerpiece of Madonna's current tour and 10 years later, not even Gaga claims the disaster that ended her pop career called ARTPOP.
