Girl, bye. These conversations come up in the black community consistently. Taylor, GaGa, Lana, etc. are some of the examples that always get discussed.

As much as i love Taylor this is one of the reasons why i dont find her life story that inspiring.
Is inspiring in so many ways and she clearly worked real hard to be listened and stand out but not like Hyper-Hyper-Inspiring

Same as Gaga who was born into big wealth  :gaycat3: they also lived in some of the cities with the most career opportunities in the whole planet
L.A / Nashville / New York City
they had so much backup to their dreams

Opposite to Rihanna who was livin in that Barbados shack and selling clothes and coconuts with her dad

or Shakira who's from a lower-middle class family in barranquilla. a random city in Colombia and had to work in restaurants and random places to fund her career in Bogota before winning that soap opera audition

Real rag to riches stories. From the developing world.

Childhood apartment of Shakira.  Childhood home of Rihanna

Ye, but how did Rihanna make it in the business? To this day no one knows what her talents are. That Hero audition certainly couldn't have been her ticket to stardom

This Merrill Lynch banker mentality is exactly how Taylor is running her career. These people destroyed America and some people are celebrating it. Just turn a profit, no matter what.

Nothing tbh. I just don't see how Rihanna's rise to fame is inspirational when she wasn't even involved in making her own music AND has no musical talents of any kind either.

Oh okay good

Spoiler

cause there are definitely people out there who claim that Rihanna had to... pull all of the tricks out of the bag... during that meeting :gaycat6:

Her exoticness and her beauty definitely. She also had some special charisma :gaycat4: she had that global appeal within her. Her vocal tone is really special

Sometimes producers just know it. Like it hapened to Kesha or Britney.  Even if they were amateurs and basic the producers knew the potential was there.

---------------------------------------------------

Even if Taylor was backed by her father there were tons of artists like her trying to be big in Nashville

If her family funded her that much they 4 sure saw something very special in her and they were right :giraffe:

Im reading the whole thing and her father is really mean.
Andrea and Taylor were 4 sure trying to escape from him and his abusive ways :gaycat4:

She hinted at this with the Mine video and the girl running away
I feel bad about Tay now. Livin with toxic parents is the worst thing

The email. Bragging about the profit he made selling his MANSION and whining about the property tax. And of course bankrolling his daughters career. So much about making it because of her amazing, unique, personal music. It was her dads money all along. It's all so gross.

Yes dads money is why she's still here after 18 years :jonny5: and the biggest star on the planet currently.

If people didn't want to listen to Taylor they wouldn't has nothing to do with how much money goes into her career :toofunny2: you can fund your own music career and still flop.
