Can we agree that Gaga’s first 15 years were bigger than Madonna’s?

I don’t agree but many people forget Madonna was viewed as a flop/has been as early as the 90s.

there’s a reason why Mariah said what she said.

But then Ray of Light, Confessions and the Stick and Sweet Tour happened. And Madonna was still pulling good numbers and press coverage on her underperformance eras.

if we don’t count the 3 gaga studio albums that flopped back to back sure why not

Are you dreaming? Never.

Madonna hit 18 top 10 hits in a row which was a record then. And 16 top 5 in a row streak.

Your favorite will never..

And your favorite debut album with repacked re-release gimmicks which are one album and an ep combined,  won't even beat the queen of pops sales.

So keep being delu and stay pressed.

:tsk:

I think Madonna is the queen of pop and your favorite is flopping.

Madonna won the artist of the decade in the 80s from MTV and billboard.

But your favorite what?

Flopped with albums ready?

I mean, Gaga still didn’t flop, while Madonna had a flopping streak in the 90s. She won an Oscar and her tours were much more successful than Madonna’s first 15 years. I can see Gaga’s future tour outgrossing S&S+MDNA in just 50 dates.

Gaga’s future is much brighter than Madonna’s past 20 years

:lmao:I mean, the fact you ignore Madonna was still scoring #1 singles 8 years into her career, as opposed to the other one whose music career dried up after three years says it all.

LG stopped getting #1 singles after BTW, and her sales trajectory plummeted and didn't really recover until Bradley pulled her from the wreckage. The next album, Chromatica was a monumental flop - not just in sales, but also reviews. The less said about Artpop and Joanne, the better.

Also, let's not forget Take a Bow was Madonna's longest charting #1 single in 1994 (from her Grammy nominated album "Bedtime Stories"). She later received rave reviews for Evita from the critics and GP. Not only was it a #1 movie, the soundtrack sold 11 million (and features an Oscar winning song voiced by the Queen herself). Two years later, Madonna had the world eating out of the palm of her hand again with the 16 million selling, grammy award winning Ray of Light album, but yeah. Madonna was a massive flop in the 90's because the OP (who probably wasn't even born back then) said so. :skull:

If Gaga's tours were more successful than Madonna's, then why isn't she in the top 10 of this list?

You wish Gaga had a "True Blue", "Ray of Light", "Bedtime Stories" in that timeframe

Gaga was giving us Artpop and Joanne :rip:

And then you have to remember Madonna was simply hated back then, Mariah said what she said because it was popular to hate on her and not because she was irrelevant.

I haven't really paid attention to Madonna since I was like in 7th or 8th grade so I would have to agree.

and if Gaga is ever popular enough to score an audience of 130,000 for ONE show like Madonna did on the WTG tour, we'll talk. Until then sit down and be quiet.

!!!

Another requirment of a legend, you have to survive the onslaught of backlash when you seem to be slipping. You either get (The Emancipation of Mimi, BEYONCÉ, Ray Of Light) or you pushed out like Katy, Paula, and Fergie and so many others who had good albums runs.

Madonna didn’t become a flop until the MDNA era. I will never understand the idea that the 90s were her “flop” years, especially when she released some of her best albums and singles then.

Gaga peaked with her debut album...

Madonna peaked... and then peaked more and then peaked some more and then peaked again... and then peaked more again... and then a lil tiny blimp and then exploded with peaking again with Ray of Light...

and her tiniest decline in 1992 was still exceptionally well crafted and beloved music, impactful and world changing.

Nope, Gaga - and I love her, she is cool, witty, funny, a great actress, a great singer and performer - did not stomp on Miss Madonna.

See, from a lamb much love to the Queen.

And also, to our gay rights icon, Gaga who changed pop culture as well.

Madonna was the only female doing those tour numbers during that time so even if Gaga somehow reaches that, it’s really not the same. Touring is bigger now for females.

Even as a Gaga fan, I have to say you are deluded.

:hoetenks:

This type of delusion should be studied. Why would you deliberately set up Gaga like that?
