Wildcat Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Madonna scored a dozen Top 10 hits + five multi-platinum albums during her "flopping streak". 1990: #1 Vogue, #8 Keep It Together, #10 Hanky Panky 1991: #1 Justify My Love, #9 Rescue Me 1992: #1 This Used To Be My Playground, #3 Erotica 1993: #7 Deeper And Deeper, #14 Rain 1994: #2 I'll Remember, #3 Secret 1995: #1 Take A Bow, #6 You'll See 1996: #18 You Must Love Me (won the Academy Award and Golden Globe) By 1996, she was already a living legend and this was before the massive Ray Of Light comeback. 3 11
LikeaRebel Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 It’s objectively not true so... no, we can’t.
Popular Post Chris Posted December 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2023 Every time Madonna released an album, her album sales got higher. Every time Gaga released an album, her sales declined. 4 3 11 1
dumbsparce Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 If by "agree" you mean "collectively lie" then yes, Gags' 15 first were bigger than M's. 1

This. She's way too distracted with cosmetics and movies while forgetting her legacy. Madge was releasing the best albums of her career at this point, and Gar seems completely unbothered by the idea of musical superstardom 2
eli's_rhythm Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Do you know how many huge hits and smash albums Madonna had between 1983 and 1991 3 1
Jjang Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Gaga hasn’t yet moved even half the units Madge moved the first 15 years of her career 1

Jay07 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) Ugh, troll better. Madonna's first 15 years were debut to Ray of Light, literally some of the most iconic and memorable albums in pop music ever. Gaga's career collapsed after 3 years and she had to turn to acting and ballads appealing to republicans to stay relevant. Some cute bops 2008-2011 but she ran out of ideas and now she basically pretends she was never a popstar. As for sales, others have mentioned them. Madonna will make more than double the gross of her quick little 20 date tour NOW, 40 years into her career after a supposed Gaga repeak with the already forgotten Chromatica. satellites.™ Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 1 hour ago, Mitsouko said: Mariah said what she said because she was immature and insecure, not because it was true She said Madonna "used to be" popular, even though at that time Madonna was fresh off the longest running #1 hit of her career plus two Top 3s the year before ITs very Bey vs Taylor, so unless people were actually of that age group and alive to feel the currency or immediate impact they tend to underrate it. Madonna was massive, as was WHITNEY during that entire time, but Madonna did become 4th place to Mariah/Whitney/Celine during an era or two and thats fine, Beyonce also has been 4th to Tay/Adele/Katy at points and she still remained the most consistent and has been like Madonna for over 20 years. They are legends for a reason! 2 2
Ron Ng Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Like a Prayer/Vouge/Justify My Love era alone is bigger than Gaga's career so no. 5
Alongoria13 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 90s Madonna can stomp on Gaga's THROAT then go record a worldwide hit and it'd be a normal day in her life. 8

superben Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Not at all, but I'd agree that Gaga's debut is bigger than Madonna's.
