Can we agree that Gaga’s first 15 years were bigger than Madonna’s?

I mean, Gaga still didn’t flop, while Madonna had a flopping streak in the 90s. She won an Oscar and her tours were much more successful than Madonna’s first 15 years. I can see Gaga’s future tour outgrossing S&S+MDNA in just 50 dates.

Gaga’s future is much brighter than Madonna’s past 20 years

I don’t agree but many people forget Madonna was viewed as a flop/has been as early as the 90s.

there’s a reason why Mariah said what she said.

And people were saying the same thing about Gaga by 2013, as she herself noted during ARTPOP. That’s really more a reflection of how females are treated in the industry rather than the reality of the situation.

But she came back hard with Ray of Light. Gaga seems to have completely gave up on her pop career for acting and makeup

She flopped worse than Madonna did with Artpop, Joanne, and Chromatica.

I have no opinion on this but Gaga better be coming back with new music in 2024 or her music career will be in jeopardy, I fear.

This website loves to rewrite history, uh ? Lady Gaga had a much bigger debut than Madonna as she exploded with her first single "Just Dance" but overall, Madonna's first 15 years were much more impressive and bigger.

Madonna = The Fame

Like a Virgin <<< The Fame Monster

True Blue = Born This Way

Like a Prayer < ARTPOP

Erotica >>>>>>> Joanne

Bedtime Stories = A Star Is Born (?)

Ray of Light >>> Chromatica

For me in my household, it's about even. They both had hits and misses 15 years in.

edit: not people coming at me from all sides for a balanced opinion :laugh2: I love this site

Mariah said what she said because she was immature and insecure, not because it was true :deadbanana: She said Madonna "used to be" popular, even though at the time she said that Madonna was fresh off the longest running #1 hit of her career plus two Top 3s the year before :skull:
