Cher files for conservatorship of her son; UPDATE: Denied.

This is kind of sad.

I listened the band Deadsy(the band Elijah was in) and I liked the first album and thought it was a unique rock sound and I liked "She Likes Big words", "Mansion World", and "Cruella" as the best song from their album; but they simple never made it. I heard of their music in a video game back in the 2000's and I did not know he was Cher's son until recently.

aka we want to control his money :bibliahh:

He isn’t worth any money, he receives payouts from her trust and she doesn’t want it all going to buy drugs that will kill him.

Not much imo. With “temporarily denied” they mean the hearing was just basically postponed but the reasons and other given info are interesting.

Cher didn’t give the enough time of notice for Elijah to prepare (reason why of the postponement) and his father’s trust is indeed what she’s after.

I'm happy to hear the son is able to hire his own attorney and not be stuck with court appointed attorney like Britney was stuck with against her will.

Cher lawyer wanted the 5 day notice to fight the conservatorship to be waived which was rightfully denied.

Britney was never given the right to fight the conservatorship she illegally put into.

I said it before and will say it, I'm giving Cher the side eye.

C-ships should be unconstitutional. Their money, their lives, their choices.

I think the same. Here in Spain you can only incapacitate someone if they are vegetable or have very serious mental illnesses (like damaged brain or Alzheimer), not because of addictions...

This. I genuinely can’t believe people are in support of this literally just because it’s Cher.

Cher is 77

She's at an age where she needs someone watching her.

UPDATE:

After postponing the hearing for fault of not giving proper notice time, the request to put Cher's son Elijah Blue Allman under a temporary conservatorship was denied. Still, a long-term conservatorship is still on the table and will be discussed in March.

Quote

A judge has rejected Cher’s request that her adult son be put into an emergency court conservatorship controlling his money.

The Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer and actor had argued in a petition that 47-year-old Elijah Blue Allman’s large payments from the trust of his late father, rocker Gregg Allman, are putting him in danger because of his struggles with mental health and substance abuse.

But Los Angeles superior court judge Jessica A Uzcategui was not convinced that a conservatorship was urgently needed and declined the petition on Monday, though she will still consider a larger, long-term conservatorship at a hearing in March.

Exactly! Weird but not surprising how stans will defend till the DEATH. And I also feel like we're hearing more and more about celebs + conservatorships ever since Britney was freed.

Exposure to Britney situation is making it to where this does not happen to others.

@Jeremiah Cher given three-month delay by the court  to collect medical records, etc. Long-term conservatorship still a possibility. What was initially denied was the short-term conservatorship starting sooner because her team wasn’t prepared, etc.

Thanks for the update. It's great she dropped and now both can try to reconnect but this cship attempt remains nasty.
