NEX Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Debut TV will have the standard re-recording, "Reimagined" re-recording of the entire album to new instrumentals and vocal styles, and an extensive vault track collection (over 10 unreleased songs), plus a couple of original songs inspired by that time period. It will be the re-recording of re-recordings. She's closing the era with a a BANG.
CaptainMusic Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 It’s not even that bad There are some gems like Our Song, Teardrops on my guitar and Place In This World that would be good to hear with updated vocals.
PillowCase Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 I get the sense that not even she likes that album so much. She is always surprised when a fan mentions a track from Debut as their favorite, she even called Invisible a B-side. Regardless of that, it's a better album than Midnights, Reputation, Lover and Folkore, so I am really looking forward to hearing it. Early Taylor just hits different.

Feanor Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 She said she'll re-record all of six of her Big Machine Records albums, so that's what I expect her to do.
JoeAg Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 personally, as a stan, only a few songs on that album have historically appealed to me. however, I would stream the sh*t out of All Night Diner if it were to be a FtV track! but yknow what? she really should re-record it. it’s her journey and who are any of us to question how she wants to go about it? besides, some vocal nuances will sound better with her mature vocals. and of course I’ll stream it upon release, on a nice nightwalk in classic Joe world fashion
wigglytuffer Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Debut TV is the one i'm excited the most for. It's a lovely story to release that last after having it as your debut album and "reclaiming" everything and I've never ever listened to it in full so will feel new for me anyway. Debut records are always exciting cos they act as a window into the artist for the first time; but from this perspective and how public the re-recording dramas have been she has a chance to re-introduce herself even after being around all of these years. It feels like a moment no one else is ever going to have and a testament to how hard she's worked to protect her legacy, so it would feel a shame for her to discard it at the final hurdle. It's insane how she's going to have (hopefully) a completely new artistic 'birth' once all of these re-recordings are out and she owns everything again

Our Song + Tim McGraw are still among her best songs even today.
