Disney Remains Top Grossing Film Studio Despite Thier Flops

Recommended Posts

Disney’s 100 Year Anniversary is stain by several box office flops & Underpefermances. However, they edge out all other studios and have 4 of the top 10 Grossing films of the year thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy 3, The Little Mermaid, Elemental, & Antman 3. These are all considered tragic for thier respective franchises , yet they still ended up making Disney #1 for 2023. Disney has had a horrible year from thier theme parks controversy, politics, and boycotts. Arguably the most tumultuous year for Disney since the 80’s. Can 2024 be the return of the GP caring more for Disney? Should they give in to the conservative crowds? Should they just make better Pixar movies? Slow down on the Marvel movies and better the quality? Thoughts?

I mean, they put out a dozen quick lil films throughout the year so figures they gross the most. How much are they losing though?

I'm surprised Universal is that close. What hit movies did they have?

Box office analyst has estimated that the Walt Disney Co. has lost over $890 million on their last eight studio releases.

The OP @Gorjesspazze9 is extremely misleading. What this tells us is that Disney spent the most money. To have any real meaning, we should see the net profit instead.

And by the way, the year is not over yet. It is very likely that Universal is going to overtake Disney in the remaining 4 days thanks to Migration and Trolls 3 doing well, so they will probably not even have that.

We need a comparison production + promo budget VS box office gross.

This is kinda pointless without that info.

I’m not misleading. I stated facts. Grossing and loss are 2 different things:rip:

yeah these numbers don't mean anything on their own.

if one company spends 2 billion to make 1.9 and another spends 1.5 billion to make 1.9 obviously the one that actually made money is better off than the other and disney's film division unquestionably lost money this year

Such an uneventful 100th year :rip:

Doesn’t half of those numbers come from Avatar 2? A film that was released last year. :deadbanana4:

that entire company is a massive money laundering scheme. I will be praying for them to go bankrupt in 2024  :giraffe:
