lbr it has a little to do with that and more with the fact that a big part of the population think that losing face is the worst thing that could happen and only suicide can fix that. yoo ah in is a messy gay with thick skin who was even proudly showing his boyfriend publicly on instagram so hopefully he’s not thinking about something as extreme as suicide. western medias and tabloids are actually 100x worse and more predatory than korean medias. the reason why the west don’t have suicide after scandal is because the culture about losing face and doing something wrong and being exposed for it is completely different :s

edit to add more: im not saying it has nothing to do with the suicides either, ofc it’s one of the factors, but there’s very little we can do about it when people have the mindset of taking their own lives when they’re being exposed for something and there’s no one around them to prevent it

Yeah, I understand what you mean…

A Korean also explained on another forum, that as a Korean shame is more powerful than being found guilty. Even if he was found not guilty of drug use, his good family man image is gone and he won’t be able to find some kind of film for some time.

They also mentioned that actors like Joo Jihoon and others are doing just fine in the entertainment world after being found guilty of drug use (and it was Meth) or even worse. They think that’s It’s the hanging out at high end brothels and not being the clean family guy image that is shameful for him and not really the drugs investigation.

Rip.

But he did not just smoke weed. Reportedly Some serious drugs got involved. He admitted he sniffed and snorted it. People were writing negative replies in that country.

He was cheating on his wife as he was meeting some madames in secrets at clubs and bars to have affairs and do drugs together reportedly. And the girls were threatening him to give them money, so the police were investigating them.

Moreover yesterday the police investigated the doctor who gave prescription. So truth got out of it and the media were gonna report it. But he committed a suicide. A tragedy.

I live for Japan-South Korea-China  but there's a lot of dark things goin in those countries and we never talk about them
The pressure in those countries is just insane and all the laws and customs
Is so weird cause theyre so innovative and avant garde. How places so advanced can be so backwards in some things.
I definitely feel sometimes like livin in places like Thailand or Philiphines would be easier. Thins looks more relaxing there.  :giraffe:

i still would love to live in Seoul or some Japanese town :gaycat4:but the language is too hard

Rest in peace darling. Hope he's in a better reality-universe with peace and happiness :emofish:

This is sad. I hate that he was being harassed and bullied. May he rest in peace.
