it was actually a very eventful day in my house because my mom got me the iphone 15 pro instead of the iphone 15 pro max. i know it seems silly looking back but i was so mad i broke the tv. my parents had to go to best buy to get another one so my brother could play his ps5 loool

I had a lovely Christmas, but I get what you mean. I think it’s a combination of (I assume) many users on this site being more “adult” now and the general state of the world + continuing to feel the effects of inflation.

 

Reports seem to indicate that retail spending was down, and anecdotally this feels very true — most stores I visited in December felt slow/quiet, and many retailers seemed to push their “Black Friday deals” far past Black Friday and into December. I know that for me, Christmas shopping felt less notable and special when I find myself having to spend $50-80 for 2 bags of pretty basic groceries every time I go to Target. Buying gifts felt like another drop in a very big bucket.
