Did Lorde Deserve Her Grammys?

Recommended Posts

The only hit that came out of the album was Royals but no one seems to be returning to it in 2023.

Buzzcut Season is a good track.

But the rest?

Were her Grammys rationalized by the front-loadedness from Royals because she hasn’t been able to retain the hype from it?

Did she deserve her Grammys or 2014 was just a crap Grammy year?

Yes. Team was a hit from that album too and to some extent Tennis Court.

I don't see why the fact her other eras weren't as big means she doesn't deserve the Grammys from her first era?

Team is 5x platinum. And Royals keeps getting certified (13x and 14x in 2023) which shows people are returning to it…

The quality of the album is 99.9% better than all other debut albums anyway :michael:

So yeah, deserved and deserved more.

Not a fan of Royals but she deserved every grammy she was nominated for. Melodrama should've won AOTY that's for sure

Yes she did deserve it & people do comeback to it.

The song changed the future of pop music, had a huge impact and is now the highest certified song by a female artist, tying Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You.

I'm not even gonna talk about the album itself, Pure Heroine, because it had a even bigger impact. The album itself is 5x platinum, Team is 5x platinum, Ribs is 3x platinum (not a single) & now a classic, Tennis Court is 2x platinum, Glory and Gore is platinum (not a single), Buzzcut Season is platinum (not a single) and Yellow Flicker Beat is platinum. She did these with her DEBUT ALBUM.

You're pathetic, bitter and jealous Lana Banana.

Melodrama deserved everything, Lorde and Lana changed the game (Jack did).

?

Royals was a huge hit and its recurrents are great. Team was also a big hit. Ribs is pretty much a hit and a cult classic in 2023 as well. It has better recurrent streams than many so-called hits from that era.

The album also had great impact and one of the biggest artists/hits of this decade is a clear Lorde carbon copy.

So yes, she deserved all of the awards and even more for Melodrama, which remains one of the worst snubs in the history of the Scammys.

This thread is giving revisionism and switcheroo.

The rationale behind a voter’s decision shouldn’t be “Is this song gonna age well/be spoken of in a decade?” It’s what they think is the best song.

Yes she deserved them
