Nicki drags Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: “there was no soul”

Delusional. It’s actually the last time her music was filled with tons of personality, wit, and charm. Almost everything after RR has just felt like recycling someone else’s hit, jumping on a remix of someone else’s hit, or trendhopping to capitalize off of someone else’s hit. The Pinkprint still has some good songs, but the formula for Anaconda has come to dominate her career and it’s sad to see.

Roman Reloaded is so good, The Re Up songs added to it.

The Pinkprint is my second favorite Nicki album, idk

A shame that she believes this; I personally thought it was her most fun album. It was GP-friendly and catchy, and there's nothing wrong with that imo.

This.

The hooks were absolutely fire

The pop songs on roman reloaded paved the path for other female rappers that wanted to release some pop

It’s true, the second part of RR was soulless and genetic. She should‘ve drop a pop EP while RR should‘ve had all the rap songs, including The Re-Up.

Imagine a tracklist like that:

1. Roman Holiday

2. I Endorse These Strippers

3. Beez In The Trap

4. I Am Your Leader

5. Come On A Cone

6. I‘m Legit

7. Roman Reloaded

8. Stupid Hoe

9. HOV Lane

10. Hell Yeah

11. The Boys

12. Right By My Side

13. High School

14. Up In Flames

15. Freedom

Another MPG who seems out of touch with their legacy :chick3:

Like damn, does any major artist enjoy the albums and artistry that made them relevant??

All of her albums are bloated and inconsistent and she never made truly great body of work but Roman reloaded has the most personality and is most memorable and with re up added probably her best album lmao. It makes sense why her last albums are so bad, she doesn’t understand her strengths and weaknesses.

Mad because she’ll never be that pretty or talented as she was during that imperial phase

Sonically it was a mess but it was the album that actually cemented her as a global star. Pink Friday was a success but rap and hip hop aren’t genres huge worldwide like they are in US.

Her expanding her sound to dance and pop put her out of the box and gave her a huge following globally, it was a very smart move bc worldwide people see her as a popstar and not just a local rapper.

However i can understand why she thinks this way. I don’t think she actually wanted to do these pop songs but she knew they were needed at that moment.

On Stationhead she clarified that the pop songs on RR were perfection & specified it had the worst rap material she’s ever released - specifically, she named “Come on a Cone” & “Stupid Hxx” as her worst.

This is obvious. Anyone with any music knowledge can see this :deadbanana2:

It was her most creative and unique album. Nobody else could ever pull off songs like Roman Holiday or Stupid Hoe and sell the right amount of crazy camp. I get the sense she just doesn’t realize this though.

By comparison PF2 feels completely soulless :skull:

This is true. She doesn't get camp because she's obsessed with being a gangsta rapper. But Roman Reloaded has so much insanity and weirdness it makes it so much more creative than trash like Queen or Pink Friday 2.

not her trying to disregard whip it like that

She's crazy as hell for saying that when Beez and High School are there

Shading Come on a Cone and Stupid instead of Young Forever and Sex in the Lounge?

Young Forever is my favourite pop song chorus/hook from her tho.

But agreed re the rest.
Stupid served FUN, avant grade, hyper-pop-rap & High School is a classique. I’d agree if she said Stupid as worst video. Hype Williams is trash.

She is so f weird. She hates her entire discography lmao.

Not everything needs « soul » and this album is filled with fun mindless pop songs that are bops. It does what it was supposed to do and it was fun.

The Re-Up and The PinkPrint are her best albums no matter what she tries to say to promote Pink Friday 2.

Young Forever is a masterpiece

Has she ever addressed why she completely dropped Roman? The Nicki from 2014 onwards is almost a completely different artist than the one who did PF and RR.
