These critics going back and revising scores needs to stop. Stand by what you said.

It is happening again. Just like how everyone switched on BTD, they're all coming around to UV.

But everything that critics found so enticing about NFR! - its California-centric production, its lyrics that both decried the world and sought for a way to find harmony and peace amidst the chaos - were actually already present in Ultraviolence, but maybe people weren't ready to hear it yet.

Omg I remember fuming at this review :deadbanana4: Glad he switched, UV is a classic and I'm hoping to see more retrospective acclaim.

But people's feelings towards music change all the time :deadbanana: there are albums I used to hate but now love and used to love but now hate! Don't see why critics should be held to any different standard

Kii I remember being disappointed that the album didn't have the upbeat/hip hop sound of BTD but now it's my fave by her.

The album was a classic on first listen. The best album of all time perhaps. If you know, you know.

If the most important music critic likes it, I will add it to my library :clap3:

I've always felt like he let her image/bad publicity get in the way of the music back in the day. I remember him bringing up the SNL performance every chance he could get.

Who is this and why is there so many threads about him? :skull:
