BrentB Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) What do you think pop culture missing? What hasn't been done yet that you'd like to witness? I've personally be here for a male PCD, but instead it'd be like Magic Mike, except it's the boy band version. I wanna see a black (dark skin) girl, with a girl-next-door vibe try to do what Taylor has done with relateable diary-entry songwriting talent ALONE (but we all know that'll never happen ) We still haven't had a hit ballad, in classical sense (not alt or indie), that's actually enjoyable, BY a gay/bi artist who was OUT & known to be out at the time - using gender SPECIFIC pronouns. Sam doesn't count cause their tone isn't really pleasant to me. Also I'ma NEED a dance Lady-Marmalade esque collab with Tate, Normani, Tinashe & maybe a solo K-Pop girl for some variety. Imagine the dance break Edited December 20, 2023 by BrentB 1
Julia Fox Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I would like to see a pop culture icon try to have a music career and succeed because releases bops and serves visuales despite not having the talent. See Julia Fox, Kylie Jenner or something like that. Records labels needs to start to experiment with new products. I know some interesting things could happen with something like that. Ashlee Simpson is a cute example

Revolution Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 A MALE pop artist in the 21st century that isn't boring. 3

Ashlee Simpson is a cute example Plenty of artists have gotten hits despite a total lack of talent so this seems like well-explored territory for pop culture. Not sure how further reducing the level of talent involved even further would make things interesting again 1 1
Strawberry Bubble Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I'd like a new band with a Depeche Mode type of music. Or even a pop girl with that type of sound. 4

The Man Who Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 In terms of the girl next door vibe and diary-entry music, Ruth B is similar to Taylor Swift in that regard. If you solely meant achieving the same level of success, I don’t see that happening to anybody anytime soon, regardless of gender and / or race. Taylor is definitely an anomaly.
toy soldier. Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 A (hot) gay man serving pop music and choreo (we've got Lil Nas X, but he's mostly a rapper)
Aston Martin Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I’m surprised no one has ever released an album and a video game together. I know development of the latter takes a while, but some people take eons on an album too. It seems like a good promotional strategy, especially given how big video games are. 2

GraceRandolph Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 A return of more mid-budget movies making money theatrically. 3

Erreur2 La Nature Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 A popboy that puts efforts into his career, serves videos, bops, has charisma and knows how to perform.

Straight males do the bare minimum when it comes to these things. 1

Orsay Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 A trans MPG that releases an actual hit project and doesn't work with Puke
PillowCase Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 More artists making songs in Enya's style. She hasn't released an album in 6 years and for some reason no one is stealing her sound even though it's beautiful and it has big commercial potential as well.
