Was ESV a Roaring Success For Miley?

Recommended Posts

ATRL called it a flop but in hindsight, Endless Summer Vacation was a massive success and a career repeak for Miley 16 years into her career, agree?

  • Album is now eligible for Platinum and still charting decently
  • Flowers broke all streaming records and among the biggest hits of this decade
  • 6 Grammy nominations (she only had 1 nom prior)
  • Newfound respect from the GP with multiple viral hits / moments on TikTok

And she didn't lift a finger after Flowers except for the videos. :clap3: Still crossing my fingers she breaks her anti-promo stance and performs or even shows up at the Grammys.

the album was shaping up to be her biggest to date, and it would’ve been much bigger but it ultimately fell flat. typical example of an album failing to meet its expectations because the album’s not good. e.g Special by Lizzo, Scarlet by Doja Cat.

Flowers was very successful yes

Only Flowers was

The album as a whole (minus Flowers) did worse than Plastic Hearts :rip:

It has potential to be a huge era, with Flowers smashing. But it fizzled out quickly after the album release and Flowers kept carrying the album on the charts.

So no.

This is a very weird era of music where a single becomes mega smash and no one cares for the rest of the album (Harry Styles, Doja Cat, Miley)

Flowers was absolutely massive

The album on the other hand… well let’s say it flopped (I don’t want to say it bombed cause I actually kinda like most of the songs on it)

let's not now...

Also only now being eligible for Platinum is quite underwhelming with a massive smash like that tbfh? The album tracks streams are abysmal and Flowers is single-handedly carrying it.

Angels Like You going mega viral around the same time and stomping on everything from the album (bar Flowers) is still so hilarious to me. See when you make timeless classics? Now get back to the studio and give us Plastic Hearts' proper sister & follow-up.

Now, I don't like Harry, but Harry's House is a successful album. I think it has one of the biggest debuts in Spotify iirc. Also, it spawned 2 big hits.

No let's be honest. Flowers was, the album flopped

ATRL is obsessed with calling a 6 times grammys nominated and platinum album with 2 top 10 hits as a flop and Miley didn't leave her house for all of this. The album went #1 on Apple Music and Itunes in 100+ countries, it's her best selling album since Bangerz, it's the most streamed pop album that was fully released in 2023

Your life is complete bomb if you react with down voting on the real facts and stats proving this is in the top 10 most successful albums of 2023 and the user from ATRL will never change this fact. Go and cry over Milegend breaking records without lifting her finger

Without even acknowledged it, so yes.

Y'all saying "Flowers" is like it's not a part of the album and is not the only single that was released before the album. Flowers is part of ESV, stop being bitter

It did not? It's objectively her most successful album since Bangerz.

Plastic Hearts - 3,547,000 units in 3 years, certified in 10 countries, zero Top 10 songs, 75/100 on Metacritic, 0 Grammy noms

Endless Summer Vacation - 3,506,000 units in 10 months, certified in 11 countries, two Top 10 songs, 79/100 on Metacritic, 6 Grammy noms

Scoring a mega smash like "Flowers" 17 years into her career is nothing short of impressive. Just because the rest of the album didn't match its once-in-a-lifetime success doesn't mean it is a flop.
