yeah, since the beginning of her career Katy was like that, quirky, weird and to an extent, cringe so WITNESS wasn't that bad to me

 

if she had her natural long black hair, the perception would have been different

Katy proved with Witness how she essentially didn’t have no identity when she stopped working with Dr. Luke. 
 

ARTPOP albeit messy, sonically was a strong project and it’s only dragged by people because BTW is that ***** and she couldn’t keep the momentum going after that. Luckily ASIB came around years after which is more than I can say for Ms Hudson

I think ARTPOP started out great (unless my memory is wack) fizzled out, but Witness was straight up cringe from the start, performances...

I stanned gaga during that time and still found it cringe af. Lyrics, interviews, performances, tweets, all of it was sooo ehh

I prefer ARTPOP over Witness but the ARTPOP era was so overhyped and had a lot going on and Gaga really thought she was doing something right which makes that era way more cringey than Witness that I feel Katy just assumed it was a mess the day the album came out and retired and left with some kind of dignity. On the other hand ARTPOP was just meltdown after meltdown on every aspect

I ironically love ARTPOP, besides Gaga had already low-key made a fool of herself during the second half of BTW alberm promo, so the cringe-factor did not have any sway for me. She offered us a lot, and the music to me was great. It was DERAILED of course, by the awful decision to include R.Kelly anywhere near this project, let alone humping him on SNL. The rest tho, including the pretentious reverse warholian expedition, was at least fun and entertaining. 

 

Witness was just a cringe mess from start to finish, and had very little when it comes to saving graces: Pendulum and Witness (song) came to mind, but that's IT.

I haven't listened to Witness yet. I do like Swish Swish and I did enjoy the roundtable discussion with Amanda Seales and therapy sessions.

 

ARTPOP gave me Sexxx Dreams and Swinefest was a moment! It was my first time seeing Gaga live and artRave was an amazing show. 

 

Will wait on this vote.
