poll Cringiest eras? Artpop VS Witness

In your lovely opinions, which eras is cringeworthy?

Literally can't choose. Both super cringe.

ARTPOP at least gave us some good songs (ie: Venus, Sexxx Dreams). Witness gave us NOTHING

ARTPOP has Aura, Venus, ARTPOP, Mary Jane Holland

Witness has Witness, Roulette, Deja Vu, Bon Appetit, Swish Swish + great instrumentals

 

Both overhated and not as bad as people make them out to be I fear!

Witness. Artpop was more of a pretentious, although still cringe at moments

Both are cringe, but Gaga fully went for it with integrity despite not landing the way she envisioned.  A lot of work and planning went into ARTPOP, and her many controversial performances and looks put the era into an entirely different league no matter how cringe or weird it may have been.  She also defended that album for the greater half of a decade afterwards, which weirdly went sort of viral and she ended up getting a lot of praise for it by other celebs.

 

Witness was an entire era of Katy coming to terms with how little she actually knew about the world and herself, and it was basically directionless from the start.  You got the sense that Katy was embarrassed of herself during that era despite pushing absolutely zero boundaries.  Not to mention, the lyrics on Witness, especially the infamous "Chinese water torture" line, are somehow much worse than ARTPOP's cringe lyrics.

I genuinely don’t see what can be perceived as cringe from Witness except the Swish Swish video that was an atrocity while Artpop was a cringe festival from the songs to the videos, the collaborations, the outfits, the performances, the meltdowns, the interviews, etc…

the bon appetit video, a lot of the lyrics (e.g. marilyn monroe in a monster truck), all of the witness live stream (e.g is math a science?), the performances, her overall behaviour...

Yeah but Gaga hyped ARTPOP and it turned into the cringiest pop era ever

 

Katy’s Witness was a non event even though she does have one of the cringiest performances of all time with this era when she performed Bon Appetit thinking she was one of the  Migos

Hard to choose tbh. I voted Witness, but both were horrible eras to live through.

It's interesting how katy is "winning" when imo it wasn't even THAT bad compated to her previous eras

 

Artpop however was a whole MESS and I love the album 

 

But maybe I just have a soft spot for cringe middle aged women

artpop was a mess but the era and tour were super fun and at least served some great performances, drama and bops 

 

witness served nothing besides a few funny gifs, a live streamed mental breakdown, some of the cringiest performances & interviews oat and a **** ton of bad music
