GraceRandolph Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Comparisons are easily done Once you've had a taste of perfection Like an apple hanging from a tree I picked the ripest one I still got the seed 7 1 1
Mordecai Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Thinking of You is one of Katy's best, if not her best song 1
Iceland Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 TOY > Style (Scooter version) > style (Taylor’s version) 1

It's actually a good example of my main criticism of ToY, that it's overwrought and lyrically clunky (which is very fitting as the "best" example of Katy's lyrical tendencies). Style is better produced and the writing is much tighter. The song is melodically constructed much better - see the literal analysis videos made about how perfect the sonic structure is - and the vocals are better on both versions (but especially the re-recording). 1
DirtyPony87 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Style is one of the best pop songs of all time. The other one is just fine. 1 1
Soda Pop Queen Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Style is cute but I haven't listened to it since 2015. Thinking of You eats. It's quite a sublime Rock ballad. Katy really sells the emotion and drama of the song. 1
Rv1709 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 The intro of style defeats Katy’s discography 1 2
naval23 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 The self written classic Style is cute but it's overrated
1000 forms of queer Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Thinking of you is Katy’s best song, so that. I love both songs but i find myself playing ToY a lot more than Style nowadays
dirrtydiana Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 TOY solely because it sounds more unique and original as where the other one sounds like Love Me Harder and I don’t like the singer nor the guy it’s about
Johnny Jacobs Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Your eyes Looking into your eyesssssss
Hallad173 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Taylor’s Style lacks punch so Katy wins. Scooters Style eats tho.

I wasn't sure when I entered the thread but after reading this load of horse **** I went on and voted Thinking Of You x2
