Charles Melton drags method actors

its a bit sad that this very real acting technique is being made into just 'making others suffer' schtick, cuz its not about that at all. yes, I know about Letos suicide squad bulshit and he should be jailed for that, but method acting is not about that at all

you guys need to watch May December before dragging him, he BODIED the role, and keep in mind he was in the same movie as Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman, and yet arguably had the best performance

Method acting is a good way for actors to get into character, but unfortunately people like Jared Leto have given the method a bad name by being insufferable assholes to the people around them while method acting. The majority of actors who method act, do not harm others and it is just a way for them to get into character.

Miss Germanotta he's talking to you :gaycat4:

He's right. It's "acting" afterall. People like Toni Colette are able to deliver a stunning performance without subscribing to all that.

Shading or dragging an acting technique is dumb, what works for certain actors don't necessarily work for others and viceversa, it's a personal choice and preference, just let everybody use the technique that works for them, most important it's the result.

method acting is such a dumb concept, if it doesn't come to you naturally then you're just not born to be an actor. do what you can with your skill set, work on it.

he’s right, and more importantly, he’s fine as hell

I mean it's clear he's specifically referring to the actors who use "method acting" as a reason to be a dick to others- Christian Bale, Jared Leto and the likes, and he's right :clap3:

funny because Alex Wolf went method in Hereditary and after filming wrapped he apparently went around introducing himself to everybody like a complete chode. i guess her rage in that dinner scene was real :coffee2:

After seeing Jamie Dornan say he literally stalked a woman in London to get in the character of a serial killer, no one can ever convince me method acting is legitimate. Talk yo shite king!

He gave the supporting performance of the year

We know he is not winning because of the competition tho.

He cannot win against name actors like Gosling (which would still be deserving) or Downey jr (whose performance is as basic as you can get)

Method sometimes works If an actor is mid you can definetly see the improvement in their performances. Good actors don't need it tho

good thing they gave lowkey bad performances.

Like Robert Pattison said, people pnly venture into method acting lane when they’re playing a-holes

I agree honestly. I’m over super realistic and pretentious method acting. I want camp and heightened acting back.
