For the first time since “My Heart Will Go On” retained both of its wins in the inaugural poll of this series, our voters have upheld the Recording Academy’s picks for both Song and Record of the Year with The Chicks retaining their wins for their classic protest anthem “Not Ready to Make Nice.” Mary J Blige took the runner-up spot in both polls with “Be Without You.”

In 2008, pop hit makers returned to the forefront in these categories: Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Justin Timberlake all earned nominations, as did noughties classics “Before He Cheats” and “Hey There Delilah.” However, both trophies ultimately went home with the night’s biggest winner: Amy Winehouse, who won both for her signature smash “Rehab.” Is Winehouse simply undeniable, or will voters be swayed elsewhere?

BNA was actually Taylor’s only nomination for her debut album; she didn’t even make Female Country Performance. Honestly couldn’t even say if she submitted Teardrops or Our Song.
