That was not even shade from Ye. What he meant is that like a mentor he guided her, rewriting her verses to get to what that verse was is a SKILL. She came new on the scene, no album out, on the same track as her favorite rapper (Jay, at least at the time) and one of the best ever and she buried not only him but Ye too. 
 

I am so far from a Nicki’s fan but this week Atrl has me defending her because of foolishness.

Beyond this situation, I feel like artists and their teams need to get all the appropriate clearance and approvals for the music months before the release date. You can't just ask someone to sign off days before dropping the album, even if you had a good work relationship with them.
