Khal Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 He has a fair bit of panned flops in his filmography, so another one to add to the list! He has also has a strange cult-like (and tasteless) following, so I'll be interested in seeing the audience score for this. 1
vale9001 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) I don't know about this movie but He's not bad as american critics want to show too. But yeah i don't know why he has this cult following treating him like a Messiah. Critics hate directors like Bay or Shyamalan but their fan base Is not annoying and just enojy the movie for what they are (usually fun). Edited December 15, 2023 by vale9001
Mandalore Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Honestly looked pretty messy from the trailer. I'll reserve judgement for when I actually see it.
Bosque Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Has he even made a half decent movie since 300?
D_Man3379 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 This man is the definition of failing upwards.

Take Me Apart Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 They just don't like seeing an Algerian legend like Sofia succeed
Corso Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 He's great for visuals, but he can't tell a good story. He needs to work with a good scriptwriter. Ridley Scott is like that too.
Arcadius Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 I mean the trailers scream Tubi Star Wars. 2
Delirious Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 I honestly have no idea why studios all want to hire him. He makes nothing but BOMB BOMBS and PANNED movies I don't get it Give the opportunity to new directors who desperately need an opportunity
Johnny Jacobs Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Idgaf about critics I will be watching

narid Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Disappointing. Love science fiction, and was looking forward to this.

James Cameron is an example of a director that's consistently good. James Cameron writes his own scripts.

Miles. Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Oh ouch, that's too bad. It looked like an interesting and original new sci-fi project. On the other hand, Netflix isn't known for releasing good movies so this isn't exactly a shock... 1
LittleStarmen Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 netflix has no idea how to do good movies tbh
Alaska. Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Yikes. And by the looks of it, it was certainly expensive
poki Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 First time I hear of this. He really thought he could put "Part One" in the title to make it more artsy like Dune lol
poki Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Actually that entire title sounds like AI for a teen-targeted novel 1
