Let me get this straight, she is rewarding people for buying her album by promising meet-ups and giving away money? That’s clearly bribery.
 

This is as fraudulent as record labels were in the 80s with numbers. Billboard detested it then, that’s why SoundScan was created, and they detest it now.

None of this would be an issue if Nicki had better business people around her. Maximizing the limits is fine and every artist should leverage their fan base to the extent Billboard will allow, but it’s necessary to work within their confines. 
 

There should have been a fully planned strategy on the multiple versions of the album, deluxe, mega deluxe, web exclusive or whatever. That way there would be no room for Billboard to “play games” or whatever she is accusing them of. 
 

Im tired of her looking bad because the people she entrusts have failed her.

Nicki has an album that has more sales than IOP. I'm not sure that any other female rapper is doing more than 200k in this climate. Until you've experienced being constantly mistreated, you don't really get to tell anyone to just stay in their place and be happy for what they have especially as a black woman.  FYI, you guys are the only ones that think 200k is bad. Many people are impressed by it especially considering everyone else's performance in rap this year. Yes, she's paranoid, but that paranoia didn't develop from nowhere. She strongly believes that billboard hates her, so any type of threat will cause her to lash out. Even if she was at 500k at 1 for weeks, she will still speak out if she believed she is being wronged. Nicki likely knew that she wouldn't get a grammy even if she was placed in the rap category, but the injustice bothered her, and she spoke out. She isnt insecure or worried that her album underperformed because it didn't. 

 

All in all, I just think maybe she didn't really understand the rules concerning incentivizing fans to buy the album. It's not the first time I've seen an artist do that so I didn't think anything about it when she asked the barbs to post screenshots. At the same time, billboard doesnt enforce those rules with everyone so i can see why she was upset, especially with the clear double standard they perpetuate. I'm not really sure what everyone is up in arms for. It's not the first time she rants, and its not going to be the last time. Its really whatever, you guys can keep "lashing" her if thats what makes you happy. Its not stopped anything.

Now I truly hope Billboard filters out  100k sales so she gets blocked by 1989 again.
