Doja reveals FTG actually stands for F*ck the Gays

Is she really in a position to attack the very stans that buy/stream her music and could possibly stop? It's not a good look.

Came to drag but I’ll have to agree with her on this one. Stan twitter is so shallow, just makes you realize why some talentless “artists” still have a career by making music with no identity or soul, like that Dr.Luke-stan/Obsessed-kesha-hater *****

I still find her childish and annoying however I do agree with her that stan culture sucks.

Her and stars like her are honestly just embarrassing. It’s like… get off social media and do your job. :giraffe:

She doesn't care if they stop. Scarlet the era had a clear message and focus. She wanted to show all sides of herself (even her ugly or bad sides) and still have people who like her for her/what she brings to music. That's what makes her happy.

I don’t like Doja Cat but I am 100% with her on this subject. This type of deranged stans from social medias (and ATRL) are scary af and want artists to belong to them. They’re so selfish and immature.

No, it is that deep. Having Stan Twitter attack a new popstar every week/month and just dogpiling on artists, calling them all types of flops, over, ended, etc I imagine can become very draining and aggravating to our pop stars. It’s all fun and games until it’s not.

Same way people are under every PopCrave tweet calling Cardi all types of ended and botched with no relation. It’s not cute. And I understand that majority of these users are children below 18, but we really need to reassess the way we interact with our pop girls online. It really ain’t cute to be in their mentions throwing fits calling them over because you don’t like a single/album/look.

Fair points. I tend to stay away from that side and don't see it to that extent regularly. I can imagine that's enough to make her feel some type of way about it all.

From her it just comes across like concern trolling :giraffe:

Well, PTTR smashed after all the backlash from “attacking” fans.

Plus, her pop stans were beyond fickle. Shutting down their accounts and running to publications because she told them to hug their mom, or whatever. If she had the wig on then they’d have called her mother for that too though.

She has the stan culture by the balls right now, they salivate at the thought of dragging her, and the GP like and use her. Shes in a great spot.

she didnt say gays but i agree with her message :clap3:

That's because she can't but everything about what she said basically points to the gay stans :rip:

The crazy part is if she had said gays ,they would've used that to say she's homophobic and invalidate all the valid arguments she's made ,the lack of accountability :rip:

The most truth she's spoken in her career, very few things are more misogynistic than an angry gay man who lives vicariously through female pop stars.

Anyways, Stan culture is quickly becoming overexposed. Not to be a geezer but I think it was more fun a decade ago when nobody knew what calling someone a flop meant. Now it seems like every mainstream brand, influencer, and celebrity is trying so hard to imitate 2011 ATRL and it’s been such a shock to witness over the last few years. Even straight men are saying stuff like “we stan!” :rip:

I hate it so much. I miss when stan culture was underground and niche. It's soooooooooooooo lame nowadays and don't even get me started on str8 men co-opting the lingo... it's just all so f*cking tired and corporate nowadays.

She didn't lie. It's why I will not go into a Britney VS Xtina thread in 2023. It's embarrassing and it's rooted in so much misogyny and sexism.

I think gay culture in general is hyperexposed to straight folks now. These days when you come out, people already start asking if you’re a top or bottom or whatever… :ace:

It really is so jarring. I hear people at my job say stuff like "she ate" "she's serving" "she's giving":rip:
