Comedor Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 If she wants to have dance breaks and go off she will need a better choreographer. She has the skills to pull off a choreo but the moves are not catchy like Crazy in Love, Baby Boy, Single Ladies etc (just to name a few Beyonce songs as example). 2
Beyonnaise Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Oh she devoured. I would be such a Tater Tot if the album was as good as Exes It's her best song by a large margin, so that helps this performance. 1
LanaXtinaFan Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) Good performance but she’s not gonna go far with that voice. It’s too trendy, not sustainable. Nobody is gonna want to listen to that mouse voice for an extended period of time. Enjoy your moment sis! Edited December 13, 2023 by LanaXtinaFan 3 2 1 1 2
popmusicisdead Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 she's an incredible performer but those TikTok vocals aren't for me, i'm afraid

It’s one or the other and this performance seems like it missed something. Again, she’s great but I don’t get the hype. Her music is so basic and doesn’t have anything special to it. She’ll be a one hit wonder it looks like…. she stopped being a one hit wonder the moment greedy smashed two years after her billion streamed, GP known smasha you broke me first. and now it seems exes is ramping up, along w several other songs on her album. i dont think shes going anywhere 2 1
jjmed59 Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 lots of “these vocals arent gonna make her last” posters must not realize shes already got an established fanbase to which she just added a f*ckton of gays alongside a good amt of the GP that gives her all those tik toks w millions of likes also LOTS of people will excuse voice if they see performance behind it. and her team has her performing on every show the gp watches so theyre aware of what the full product theyre being sold is. this is not a camila “her voice is all we can focus on” situation; we’re talking about one of the most well known dancers in the dance scene having a breakout moment as a pop star. not sure when was the last time that happened (jlo maybe? im talking actual dancer first not pop star who can dance) 2
Vermillion Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Her vocal aesthetic will hold her back from having a long-term career, and that has nothing to do with vocal producers. She’s trying to combine TikTok short spurts with the Lolita TRL dance breaks and do it all on max and all of it goes mid as a result. The types of songs that are booming for her on streaming right now won’t sustain her past a decade unless she reinvents. Unlike the TRL Lolita era with Britney, Jessica, and Mandy, the Murder Inc. era with J.Lo and Ashanti, the Disney girl era with Miley and Selena, the urban girl era with Rihanna and Ciara, the white bling girl era with Fergie, Nelly and Gwen, the pop renaissance era with Katy and Gaga and the moody girl era with Lana, Lorde and Billie, this girl is faceless. No backstory buildup, nothing to stand out. There’s nothing distinct about her except the dance ability, which isn’t en vogue at the moment outside R&B and urban circles/radio/standoms. She doesn’t have the fanbase loyalty and songwriting chops of SZA or Taylor (what she has in streaming hits are there for the songs, not her - they might as well have been sung by a tired Bebe Rexha). There’s a lot of pop-Doja crossover here from her now but neither will be getting hits or filling arenas in a decade. Call me when she cuts the rasp and whisper affectation and pulls off a downtempo ballad hit on streaming. Better yet, get back to me in a decade. 2
magazine Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 yup, they shouldn't have turned off the lipsync track Jesus! 2

She’s big now, the song’s horrible, her aesthetic won’t last without a fanbase there for more than just the songs but her personality, of which she has none, a songwriting ability, of which she has none, or crossover ability outside forced dance breaks, of which she has none. 1 1

She needs to decide whether she'll lip-sync more and give us harder choreo or do more vocally cuz right now this mix of being in the middleground at both ain't really that captivating. also adlibing the whole song is kinda weird I was coming to say this. Theres just something off as a whole, it isnt coming together. If she wants to do all that dancing she has to save it solely for the dance break and focus on the singing or pre-record stuff. Simple. The extremely high caliber she is dancing at does not allow for a vocal performance. Its simply impossible. But overall she is killing it! Star material I am not sure yet.

Ms. Togekiss Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 She’s a great dancer but that’s what it’s giving, back up dancer. I don’t like her tone and her chipmunk’d voice reminds me of a worse Camila with hard work she can be a great pop star but right now it’s just giving back up dancer who does some back up vocals here and there. It also doesn’t help that the music is TikTok’s faceless trash either 2

Sexy and Tom boyish at the same time, cuz woman's hockey is very serious in Canada.

Where are you now? Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 It's so awesome to watch back through her hundreds of videos she uploaded to her youtube channel from age 7 to 17, doing dance competitions, performances and writing and singing original songs in her bedroom. She really worked her a** off for this moment and it shows! It's ignorant for anyone saying she's a faceless industry plant 3 1
