brooklyndaddy Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 It’s not a good album. She has a great skill set but her art is one dimensional. This is a collection of meh to decent raps over a random selection of extremely mid beats. 3
Diet Pepsi Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Like I said the little unicorns are the only people that like the album 9
Sombre Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 it's always "who cares what this xyz thinks" while they open the thread to comment about his opinion. the copium is at an all time high.

Kayseri Mantisi Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 rail me daddy and give me a strong 10 while doing it
FOCK Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I can understand his perspective, but he’s wrong on the production being generic - the album’s production frequently takes unexpected turns & she skates on a variety of beats & genres effortlessly, plus the strings littered throughout the album are a nice touch. Who else is doing any of this rn? It seems he went into it with a preconceived expectation, which I can’t fault, many did because of the name, but instead of dropping those desires and assessing the material for what it is, he’s let it damper his review. PFG literally features her “animated” voice, updated for 2023 - The reality is she’s a 41 year old mother & that’s not where she’s at in life or what she wanted to explore here - which was established very clearly at track 1. He knows damn well had she come out with the zany voices all over this album he would’ve dragged it for being “immature”, “formulaic” & “lacking growth”. How is he gonna beg for Roman and in the same breath, bemoan her taking jabs & disses? How is he going to claim she took inspo from CAT of all people, over a sound she pioneered? If you want to talk about consistency & “inspiration”, at least be consistent in your critique & don’t remain hung up on the past? I’m feeling a decent to light choke me with your thighs, regardless. 1 3

Its always out of 10, and usually he scores albums with .x points as well. Personally I think this is too low, since I do find some parts of the album really enjoyable. Honestly its just the singing and the way the samples were used that I take issue with. I've been spinning it a few times since released and I really only skip a few tracks. I really wish she rapped more and didn't spend so much time singing on some tracks, and I don't know what they were thinking with how samples were handled this album.
