Steven Spielberg drags Hamas "Barbarity against Jews"

So he is right in the fact that what Hamas did was barbaric. But then what does that make Israel's action? It's beyond barbarity and it's important to always call it out as well whenever you make anti hamas statements otherwise you show your hand. The same way Pro-Israel politicians, celebs and just average ppl ALWAYS stress every pro Palestinian to say that the events of October 7th were horrible before defending Palestinians the same should also be applicable to the other side. What the state of Israel has been doing to the Palestinians for 75 years is BARBARIC too. Say it.

This is the same person who donated a million dollars to Israel after it killed 1000s Lebanese people in the 2006 war (and basically very few Isrseli civilians were killed). Not surprising.

Ok, and? If you speak up for Israel, you’re going to get dragged. If you speak for up Palestine, you’re going to get dragged by the other side. People have their own opinions and there’s no point of going back and forth about it.

And to the OP, Spielberg will be fine. He runs Hollywood anyway…

He's Jewish,he has every right to speak up for his own.

Plus he's thee Steven Spielberg ,you can't cancel him from Hollywood .

I’m a little surprised. I thought his movie Munich (which very DIRECTLY deals with issues impacting Palestine and Israel) gave a fairly nuanced and sensitive-ish perspective on the situation.

To condemn Hamas whilst staying silent on Israel’s war crimes / catastrophic slaughter of the Palestine people isn’t a good look.

Why can’t you speak up for both, there is bad going on each side of this. Hamas are trash, IDF are trash.

I think it is a little disingenuous to frame this issue in the context of anti-semitism.  Anyone facing the oppression wrought by Israel would also hate that country.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. Anyone defending them gets the side eye from me & Steven Spielberg

To condemn Hamas without discussing the IDF (who have killed more people than Hamas could ever dream of) is ignorant at best and morally reprehensible at worst.

Israel is the aggressor. Call it for what it is.

He must be ok with how Jews treat Palestinians for years :rip: can you imagine if Jews were the ones being treated like the Palestinians now, the uproar. He can piss off

I thought this conflict specifically concerned Israelis not Jews in general? What happened to Jews =/= Zionists?

There are many Jewish people around the world who are standing in solidarity with Palestine, organising Jewish blocks in marches and organising sit ins, and calling out the obfuscation of constantly having to condemn Hamas before you address an ongoing genocide project being committed by Israel in world view; even within Israel with rabbis who are facing state brutality for doing so. Jewish voices are some of the loudest saying never again; don’t confuse or think Jewish = Zionist.

All resistance movements are considered terrorists by occupying powers. That term literally means nothing.

Lol. Are you a bin laden apologist as well??

There's an ongoing genocide against Palestinians but I don't see anyone in Hollywood talking about it

it just shows that a lot of people in the west are only outraged when their fellow white people are being killed, they don't care if Arabs are killed because they see Arabs (and other non white people) as sub human

Some of you in this thread defending mass murder. You've lost all moral clarity. It's okay to have nuance about this situation and recognize that some things are wrong.

lol I mean did y'all really expect him to say anything less than this? He's jewish and like 150 years old. Of course he's a Hollywood Zionist.

Good. Now drag the barbarity against Palestinians in Israel too.

But does he condemn the warcrimes committed by the Israeli government?

The fact Jews were once seen as non-white too. And got treated just as bad if not worse in Europe as Muslims today

We really came to the point that saying "Hamas bad" is a controversial opinion, huh?

Israel Murdering ten thousand children is teaching folks exactly who is *actually* bad. ISISrael proving in real time exactly why resistance is necessary.
